"Eco" leather - not leather at all
By "Eco" leather they mean fake leather. I bought this chair to replace an older chair of the same type that I got from a box store that had an actual leather (or reasonable substitute) seat. I purchased this chair from Amazon about 6 years ago now and the coating of the seat material is just flaking off. It seems there is a very thin black layer of some kind of material, then another thin layer that is suede-like, and then some kind of cloth base (I assume). It doesn't seem to be any kind of leather or leather-like material at all other than initial appearance. This is still a comfortable chair and I would rate at 5 stars if not for the deception. Just know that this isn't real leather, it isn't synthetic leather, it is fake leather. Don't be fooled by the "Eco" euphemism. The gas piston is also not keeping the chair elevated well but that isn't something that is unusual for the height adjustment on these types of chairs after 6 years (I imagine).

Fine Chair
I've owned my chair for about 4 years. I like the lumbar support and armrests are fine. It was very comfortable for the first 2-3 years, but then the padding isn't as firm now, the armrests have both cracked and the piston has a small leak where you drop 1-2 inches from the height you initially set it, so I find myself having to raise the chair back up. So how does it rate? Well, it is a no brainer if you are comparing this to a $100 chair. You should get 3-4 years of good use out of it, and then maybe it will serve until you're ready to purchase a new one (where I'm at now). My work chair when I go into the office is a Herman Millar, and it's nowhere near that level. I'm not sure how it compares to other $300 chairs. I wish it lasted longer.

Still solid after 5+ years
I work from home and I play PC games so I have used this chair 10+ hours a day for the past 5 years. I feel like I have gotten value for what I paid and then some. It is not the most well built or ergonomic chair out there, but for the price it does it's job and it lasts longer than you would expect. After 5 years the chair is a bit creaky, one of the arm rests has some small cracks in it and the material on the seat itself is wearing off. Otherwise, it is still solid and I would definitely recommend it if you are in the market for a reasonably priced office chair.

Best chair ever.
I have this chair at work for a number of years and I just bought it for the home office. I am a big boy and this is the ideal big boy chair. As far as the arm rests splitting, they will do that, but the trick is to buy some adhesive suede in a sheet (usually used for the soles of dancing shoes) and adhere it to the top of the arm rests. You gain in two ways - the arm rests are permanently fixed and the suede feels awesome when you are typing and resting the arms on them. I am 6' tall and I like that I can sit such that my head goes over the back rest to stretch out my neck a little.I have used this chair for about 8 years at work and with the little suede fix, It should keep on trucking for more years. After about 6 years the cylinder that hoists the chair died, but since I always use it in the lowest position and sitting in the reclined posture, it is no concern. I can program longer in this chair than any other chair I have ever used.Best chair I have ever used period.Update November 2022 - My office 2010 chair finally died today with a full core dump suddenly after about 12 years of (ab)use. The chair looks great without any cosmetic drama, but I literally fell completely backward and whacked the ol' noggin pretty hard. Happened while I was talking to someone, so it was pleasantly embarrassing and awkward. Good thing there isn't anything up in the cranial cavity that can be damaged. I am now in the process of dropping the coin to get another one. Still the best chair ever.

5 Star so far
It's been a day. I did a lot of research and found i needed to spend a bit more to get a worthwhile chair. I never thought I'd be working from home 8 hours per day for months, so I was getting away with a very cheap and non-ergonomic wayfair chair. Back pain, chest pain, lack of sleep, and headaches, along with shortness of breath (not covid), i found that my posture is killing me. Hoping this chair helps, it's the first day of use and feels just like my chair at the office. Putting this together took about 15 mins and there was zero colorful language, which is awesome. Usually some sorts of swears come out, but this actually went together very sturdily. It's got an adjustable lumbar support, moves up and down, as do the armrests. The seat is pretty comfortable and what you'd expect. I honestly have really liked the mesh backed chairs as they breathe and are also comfortable. Time will tell how it holds up, but I'm happy with the construction and ease of assembly.

Great Chair, very durable and will have a long ...
I normally don't review products, but my brother was asking me about a chair to buy and which one I used; So I dug up my order history to find this product.I've been using this chair since October 2015 on a near daily basis. I'm a fairly active PC Gamer, and the chair has held up amazingly well. All my back problems from prolonged sitting have gone away, and the chair seems as durable as ever.My only gripe is that arm rests began to break apart small pieces of material around the 1 year mark and have continued to fall about very slowly over the course of my second year. It's mainly cosmetic damage, as the chair and it's arm rests still function as they should. Overall, I think this chair has another 2 years of life in it.TL;DR: Great Chair, very durable and will have a long life. Solved my lower back problems from gaming for extended periods of time. Comparable to a Herman Miller Aeron or other high end chair with a much lower price point. Armrests may begin to fall apart after 1 year of active use. Definitely happy with my purchase.

9 month review
im 270lb, took really great care of the chair.. the hydraulic pump wont stay up for longer then 20 minutes and im bottomed out, also when I lock the back in place, it pops out with ANY pressure on the back because the handle mechanism underneath is now wearing out and just pops out with any pressure, so i'm permanently stuck leaning back.. its been creaking for months, which wd40 suffice but im allergic to xylene and most oil spray products contain it.. honestly probably a 100$$ chair at best
