Works like a charm!
I have a new-to-us 2020 Ford Escape, which did not come with a CD player. I went to the best local shop in town and they installed the only external CD player they carry--and it was a bad experience because the player had to buffer all the songs into memory before it would play. It would take over 15 minutes for 1 CD! Not a good experience at all if you are used to popping in a CD on the drive to the grocery store.I went online and researched. I found the MIT-USBCDV2. There are 2 models, and I took the chance on this one--mostly because I know Amazon has a good return policy. Well, we plugged it in and it performs beautifully!INSTALL: plug in USB.USE:1. Turn on the radio.2. Put in a CD.3. Wait for 15 seconds (for the index to buffer )until the Audio Source "external USB" shows up.4. Press the icon. Music starts playing.5. Press Next/Previous on console or steering wheel and it plays those songs. We tested this out on older CDs, newer CDs, and ones we recorded ourselves. All of them worked. The sound comes through the car speakers. Life is good again!

Junk!
This CD player last almost 1 year before it failed completely. My truck has failed to locate this device shortly after buying, so do yourself a favor and stay as far as you can from this. Total waste of money!!

Too sensitive to bumps
For me I found it too sensitive to any kind of movement when I listen to my audiobooks in my car. A bump in the road or just turning around corners would cause the C D to to jump off tack or stop playing. I wish it would have worked, but I had to send it back.☹️I have been thinking old-school technology...CDs are out of date and are being phased out. I chose to use Audio Books streaming to listen to my audiobooks. EVERYTHING IS GREAT NOW

Needs to Play all CD Audio Formats for the Price
I nstallation and integration into the car's radio-audio controller took just one minute. A true plug and play device...one clean USB cable supplies power and audio to connect to your car's audio system with no installation hassles. Too bad it does not play all CD formats.. it is limited in that aspect, and you don't know when it will play a CD or not. In may case, it only plays about 1/3 of the CD'sI have in my collection. However, I put up with it and kept it because it sounds great. There is no other player on the market that will integrate into the car audio controller as seamlessly as this one did. It also about 6 incches square and about 1" high and fits well into a compartment in the dash or consol box. But for the price, there is no excuse for it not to play other audio CD formats. The cheaper portable players do... but they are not suited for a car's audio controller if they only have a headset out 3.5mm connection jack. That type of output jack is too low in signal strength to input to the car radio. You have to crank your car's aduio system up almost 85% full to hear them. You need a true AUX LINE OUT jack or a USB direct connect like this player has. This player has only the USB output and it works well, that's all you need. Just beware that the same CD player is offered by different sellers for more than $100 less than this MITO Auto player. I thought because it was more expensive, it would play my CD's... but it didn't, and it is the same unit as the others.

Awesome player!!
Very easy installation and it worked PERFECTLY right away. Be aware you must unplug if your USB is always hot. Also CD player does not show artist or sing title. Sound is fabulous…. Better than expected!!!
