I’ve had this unit for a while now and I am no stranger to at-home IPL hair remover. Note, that it is normal to take TIME and sometimes a LOT of time (yes even after the 30 day return window). That’s just how IPL hair removal works.Firstly, this is my first time using This Braun brand. It’s easy to hold and easy to use. It auto senses your skin and adjusts its own level accordingly.Before you use the device, you need to SHAVE (NOT wax, pluck etc) I know you’re worried about hair growing back thicker, but that is a myth. Your hair does not grow back thicker if you shave!!Also, a burning hair smell is NORMAL! And also probably a good sign that it got some hair follicles.-I used this for my upper lip touch ups since it’s been about 7 years since my last treatment. After 2 treatments, my hair is pretty much nonexistent(note that 7 years prior I had about 10 treatments that made my upper lip hair super fine and barely noticeable, so I don’t need as many treatments.)- Next I did my chin. It’s a first time for the chin but my hair isn’t super thick. So after 2 treatments (1 treatment a week) there is a huge reduction of hair.-moving on to my bikini line. I did this area 7 years ago and decided to touch up the bikini line and move a bit closer to the nether regions. This has taken 4 treatments to see good results (hair falling out etc). Unfortunately, this is NOT suited for very dark skin tones. I am an Asian & Native American mix, so my skin is a darker yellow/red mix. It worked well around the bikini and the upper area around the moms pubis. As the skin got darker further down, the device would not allow it to operate, a safety feature to not burn yourself. Now, you can trick the device by aligning the sensors with a lighter patch of skin and with the lamp partially in a darker area, but I highly advise against this. I tested it (for science) and holy mother of Mackerel did that sucker burn. So if your skin is lvl 5 or 6, definitely do not use this.- finally the armpits. I’ve only done 3 treatments (1 treatment a week). I’ve noticed considerable slowness in regrowth. Will need more treatments for sure, but it’s definitely giving results at 2-3 treatments.Definitely worth the buy! Be patient it depends on the person and it’s slow, but it works.

I’m going on week 5, and I have to say I can absolutely see a difference! I also feel it has improved my skin itself, not just a reduction in hair, but also seems like it’s helping to keep bumps at bay, and maybe even skin tone? Before using, I would have to shave my legs everyday. Every single day! So annoying and can’t be great for your skin. My hair comes in at a slower rate and it is much lighter and softer. You do have to set the time aside to use this weekly, or it will not work. I can’t say that it’s completely painless-definitely makes me jump here and there, but it’s totally tolerable. Easy to use, and worth the time it takes for treatments. I only wish I would have found this sooner!

This works wonders everywhere on your body, but a little bit difficult to dial it in around the bikini and underarm area. ANY kind of pigmentation at all (and I am NOT that pigmented at all) is a hit or miss. Sometimes it fires, sometimes it doesn't. It takes a little bit of patience to wait until it "decides" to get the area you want. I think this is the PERFECT device to remove hair on your LEGS. In just three weeks I have seen a tremendous difference in the growth rate. I only have hair on the knee below but it works so well I think I will only need about 4-5 more weeks before I am free of leg hair forever. Granted I am asian so I don't have a lot of hair anyway. I have been lasered professionally in underarm and bikini area so I wanted to touch up the remainder with this device and it does work for very thin patches. However, if you are a first timer and want real results, just save your money on this device and use it for legs. (you have to shave and dry your legs before you use it). It's worth it for JUST your legs, and maybe, the happy trail area. I think I will try this on my husband's back he has some spotty areas so ladies try this for them. I do NOT recommend this for underarms or the bikini area. Just save up the 2k and get those done professionally, and at that point go brazilian. You might as well. They're looking at your junk already anyway. Might as well have them clean up the crack too. They get paid enough for it. Plus, imagine how nice it will be each month.

Updated review: it’s been almost a year, and this is a godsend. I can run the machine over bad spots a couple times, but never have any more dark hairs. I still shave, but nothing like I use to. It’s the best thing I’ve ever owned. Just keep up with using it. I have no armpit hair, and I’m 99% free of facial hair. I took a break on bikini over the winter, but am starting again for the summer. It will take away all bikini line irritation as well.First review: I have pale skin and medium to dark hair on my face, and neck.. I was going to an Electrologist for years with little to zero help.. this thing does not get rid of it for good, BUT with regular use after about two months or less you will see little to no hair. But you must be regular with it. Plus the product lasts up to 15 years. So it’s a win win. Nothing else like it on the market. I didn’t take photos or I would share. I bought the older version because it was less expensive.. I would recommend the newest for faster results. I also go over the same spot more then once, but be careful, it can burn you.

I bought this a few years back because I have trouble with facial hair which I’m pretty sure is because I have PCOS. I was dumb and should have returned ages ago but I thought it was something I was doing wrong. This laser has 3 different strength levels. But it lasers based on detection and I could never get it to level 3. I’m pale and brunette which is the optimal shade of skin and hair for this product apparently (woc please be careful this product can burn your skin) , and it didn’t really get rid of the thick hair on my face, I wasn’t sure if it’s just impossible to do with any laser but I wouldn’t know because I have a feeling it has to do with me not being able to use the full strength of this ONE.. It’s a waste of money and not cheap either for it not to even work to it’s alleged full capabilities.
