Since LEDs use barely any energy, the batteries in this last forever! I used this in my office at work on my small Christmas tree, and it worked perfectly. I ran it for eight hours a day for almost a month. This one is a little higher priced than other ones, but I think it’s worth the money because of the great quality and water resistance. The only thing I don’t like is that you have to click the button like eight times in order to turn it off because it cycles through each setting in order to get to the “off” setting.

The media could not be loaded.  This is a great set of lights! It has a choice of different settings or a combination of all of them which is shown in the video review. I can’t speak to battery life as I haven’t had these long enough. The lights are bright and cheery and fit the buckboard perfectly. I am thinking of buying another set :)

So... I didn’t realize that the switch was 3 way (as the lights arrived with no directions). I bought the lights to decorate part of my boat and was hoping for the 6 hours on, then off timer. I lit them on Wednesday and noticed that they never turned off (because I had it in the “on” position). I left town to go home for thanksgiving and returned Sunday morning and surprisingly the lights were still burning bright! 3 1/2 days on 3 AA batteries.. prettty impressive.I discovered today that the switch is 3 way and I plan to activate the timer tonight.

I bought 2 strands of the 50 multi-colored lights. I really like how they work off batteries. There are 8 modes - I prefer to keep them on steady, which is the 8th mode, and you have to keep clicking until you get to #8 - #9 is turn it off. Unfortunately, I didn't check the strands of lights as well as I thought when I first got them. The purple lights (which is why I bought the lights) were much dimmer than the other colors on both strands. (the other colors are nice and bright) When I went to put them on my tree (2 months after I bought them), one strand, several lights didn't work at all and several were REALLY DIM to where they almost looked burned out. Unfortunately the return window was closed. The second strand, the purple lights are very dim and seem to be getting dimmer. They've only been on the tree about 5 days. I'm very disappointed. I have other strings of Christmas lights (different brands) that are battery operated and they are much better.

The ad states that these are “waterproof,” and there is an image showing the lights in rain. When you receive them, there is a note stating that the lights cannot be used in the rain, as they are not “waterproof.” On one set, several bulbs did not work. Upon replacing the bulbs, I discovered the sockets, rather than the bulbs, were faulty. The lights diminish in brightness the farther they occur on the string away from the battery packs. And there is no way for me to contact anyone to discuss this issue. Of the 3 sets I purchased, none of the remotes worked. I removed the battery protector, and I know how to operate such controls. I bought many other lights this year with the IDENTICAL remote controls, and ALL function properly, with the exception of the ones being reviewed, here. One star is one star too many for these lights. I am extremely disappointed in this purchase.

These were the perfect lights for my front door wreath. The description on Amazon gave me enough information to set the correct timer and flashing modes. When I complained that not all the lights lit, the seller contacted me and immediately sent me an entire new string at no charge, when I would have been happy with a few spare bulbs. These LED lamps seem pretty well sealed and should last for a long time.

These are beautiful bright lights, but the remote and timer aren’t great.I thought that the timer description “6hrs on and 18hrs off per day” meant they would come automatically each night. No dice. They stay lit for 6 hours after setting the timer, but they never turn back on the next day.The remote won’t work unless you’re standing less than 6 feet away and pointing it STRAIGHT at the battery pack. Pretty much completely defeats the purpose of having a remote, unless you’ve put the battery pack in a hard-to-reach place.Since the timer only turns the light off not on and the remote only works when you’re close, I have to go outside every night to turn them on and set the timer again... inconvenient.

I've been testing the lights for the past 1.5 hours. Out of the box most bulbs are bright but 6 are not. 2 purple, 1 green, 2 red, 1 blue are so dim, they give only a tiny pinpoint of light. The bulb in these 6 appears smaller than the others or maybe that's because it's so dim. I'm disappointed in the quality of this light string. If all bulbs lit strongly, the lights would be great. Unfortunately, this string of battery-operated lights will be returned.
