This is a handy little pocket book which you can hide away and practise Welsh as and when you like. I love the size of it and the fact that the book is written in scenarios, so when you go to the tafarn (pub) you can ask for cwrw, (beer) just like a local. Go to the bank and the phrases you need to find out about your account are there. Even at the dentist you will be given phrases to say what is wrong with you! An absolute gem of a book which I rate very highly!

Very happy with the book and it has been very useful so far as I learn Welsh.It's broken down into scenarios and sections (shopping, restaurants, etc.) and I find the phonetics column very helpful when needing to know how to pronounce the more difficult words. A good dictionary is tagged on at the end also and serves as a useful reference.The only way I'd like to see it improved is to make the physical size of the book a little smaller as like the Lonely Planet Phrasebook series - so it can easily fit into pockets, etc...Other than that, really happy with it and shall use it often as a reference.

I'm very impressed with this phrasebook, having bought a number of other guides over the past year. As well as being splendidly organised as a phrase book, it has enough grammar in a separate section to be useful in learning the language properly. It is beautifully designed and laid out, with every phrase transcribed phonetically. What I'd very much like to see, on a website or a CD perhaps, is every phrase spoken, page by page.
