AZOOM SNAP CAPS 223REM 2/PK

Bought 3 pairs and all together have fired these a total of 100 times so far. The .223 version is very sturdy and precision made to the specs. Compared to other calibers that I have, this version stays very clean and chipping / scratching is minimal. I’m using these for my AR and Mini 14. I like to keep a snap cap in some firearms to help keep dust and dirt out of the barrel. It also adds a safety factor by forcing me to check the chambers and make 100% sure there isn’t a live round after shooting at the range. Helps to simulate the release round on my AR’s binary trigger. The ones on the right have been used the most by 50% magazine feed and 50% manual feed.

Dry shooting and practicing is important, especially when ammo is expensive. I have these snap caps in various calibers, and they perform exceedingly well.They come in a nice, compact package, 2 shells per package. The caps feel well made, fit in the magazine just like a real shell, and cycle your firearms flawlessly.There is no residue when cycling them and they do not harm your firearms.Overall, I'd recommend

Great snap caps

These worked perfect in my milspec AR15, but did not chamber or eject in my friends ATI AR.(the reason for the 4 stars) The feed ramp was not allowing the round to chamber and when we put it in the chamber it would not eject the round.(guns fault not the snap caps fault) But we were still able to place the snap cap in the barrel and test the trigger. Pull the charging handle back just far enough to reset trigger and fire again. I do this with my semi-auto handguns as well so I don't have to chase the snap caps around the room. The snap cap easily falls out to remove. The snap cap was softer than the AR metal and no damage was done at all to the gun. The snap cap had a couple burs to "file" down.I have used A-Zoom for many of my guns and I am completely satisfied with the snap caps for my personal use.DISCLAIMER: The above statements are my opinion only and are for information purposes only. Must have for saftey,spring relief,and firing pin longevity

Product was shipped fast & exactly as ordered. I was grateful for the discreet packaging envelope as my doorstep is somewhat public and I'd rather not draw attention to the purpose & caliber of the snap caps to passersby.

I have a Noveske Thunder Ranch AR-15 Carbine with a 14.5" barrel and a flash hider bringing it up to the 16" minimum allowed total length of a Rifle. Precision is dealt by the firearm but accuracy is up to the shooter. I frequently dry fire with all pistols and long guns, and this tool works well for this sort of practice. These are aluminum snap caps which fit well inside my magazines. These will help the firearms' longevity when practicing dry fire drills.These are well made and durable.Highly recommended.

I loaded 12 new snap caps into a nearly new 20-round PMAG GEN3 magazine into a nearly new, thoroughly cleaned LWRC M6 SPR. Although the rifle hasn't had a single malfunction with live rounds, on the first use of a mag with these snap caps I had multiple failures to feed, double feeds, and failures to extract. Others have hypothesized that these issues are caused by wear; I can confirm NEITHER worn out snap caps NOR lack of cleanliness are root cause for these malfunctions.Giving two stars because I find the malfunctions useful: I bought the snap caps as a training aid and dealing with malfunctions is an important part of training. When life give you lemons...EDIT: I'm not sure what changed, but the snap caps are working beautifully. No longer getting any kind of malfunction. Same mag, same rifle, same snap caps. Maybe last time I didn't seat the mag properly, but in any case I can't fault these snap caps. (Rating changed from 2 to 5 stars.)

These are my go-to for snap caps/dummies. I've loaded my own dummies out of spent casings and I've also used some cheaper plastic ones but they never seem to last. I use these mostly to practice drills in my house. They also have a small piece of rubber for your firing pin to strike so your firing pins are safe to dry fire these.

These snap caps are nicer and heavier than competition plastic type. One small minus point is quick finish wear at the edges in semi-auto guns due to feeding force.

These snap caps are very solid, and work well.When one of them got caught in the action of the rifle, it did take a chunk out of the side of the cartridge, but the item didn't bend or break. I sanded the edges of the groove down such that they wouldn't be sharp, and it still feeds through just fine.
