Blue Ox BX88272 ATM Fuse Bypass Switch with Long Lead

I used the switch to bypass my fuel pump fuse. Now, I simply flip the switch to deter thieves from starting my truck and driving away. The hardest part of installation was drilling the 3/4" hole in my pristine dash.

Have always been a Blue Ox' quality fan but disappointed in this design. At this price, 10 cents more of wire in the leads (even on the "longer" one) would have increased the rating and ease of installation ---you could always coil it up if too long, Come On!! But the biggest detraction, already mentioned, is the fact that they provide two loose leads for you to install in a "Micro" fuse block. All they had to do was wire on a plastic clip (same size as the micro fuse you have to remove) and you could just plug it in. THEN YOU'D HAVE 5 STARS. As it is, it is difficult to plug in 2 separate (loose) wires without knocking the other one out. It's working and if they just don't fall out, I'm hopeful that this switch is going to solve my battery drain problem with the 2012 CRV we tow.

I use this switch on my 06 Jeep Liberty that has the fuse box right next to the steering column. Longest part of installing was drilling a hole to place the switch otherwise it is plug n play for small fuses.

This is a good product. Installed easily. I formed plug to put in the fuse blank would make it ideal.I trimmed an old fuse to fill the gap between the prongs.I placed the switch out of sight in the cubby hole to the left of the steering wheel.Now I don't need to worry about a dead battery after a long day on the road.

We tow our Honda CR-V behind our motorhome. The Honda Manual requires that you remove a fuse prior to towing. The fuse is away up under the dash to the left of the steering column and is very difficult to get at. As a result, I never actually removed it. The problem with this though is that the battery runs down after only 3 hours of towing. This small cable solves the problem - you only have to pull the fuse once place it n the fuse receiver in the cable and then it's only a switch. You do need to drill a hold in your dash for the switch.

Perfect, easy to connect. A little pricey for a simple wire configuration. $25 bucks would be more reasonable.

But the switch looks like it will work fine to turn off my accessory fuse when I tow my Saturn Vue. This way I will not have to manually disconnect the fuse or risk having my battery run down. I hope to get my 'toad' hooked up to my RV by next spring.Update- I could not get this switch to work with my 2006 Saturn Vue because the Vue had a big fuse that it had to bypass. So I kept the switch around and got it to work with my 2014 Chevy Captiva.

Seemed like a lot of money for a switch and a couple of feet of wire. Worth it not to scout around and buy all of the parts. Well made like I expect from Blue Ox. It would be better if the 2 blade connectors were ganged together. It was very difficult to get them plugged into the fuse holder.

Product is as described but it is made very cheaply. The connectors that plug into the fuse panel should be made like a fuse. Instead they are two individual blades. They don’t stay in the fuse panel very well because there is a gap between the two blades. If it were made like a fuse you could just plug it in. One of the blades ended up breaking off and we had to make a new one.

Excellent... What I needed....easy install..

Wires at fusebox end of different lengths, easy to break spades, very difficult to install into a Honda fusebox which is in a terrible position.

So far so good. This product do what it supposed to do
