KYWIs are great, they just are
Fantastic kydex retention for running around and knocking into stuff but draws smooth. Can be made looser by the end user with a little heat if desired for competition purposes (the insert is velcro'd in). You will need to supply your own Malice clip/WTF Strap/One Wrap

The Best
So, Esstac makes the best quick-release pouches on the market, AND at a lower price than its competitors. Problem is, their customer service stinks. I didn't know until my first order was messed up, that it takes a week or more of aggravated cyberstalking to get ahold of them. You also have to pay for shipping and handling. So, if you can find a reputable seller on here (I think my seller, and the current one, is "Milspec Retail"), I recommend going through Amazon, where any issues are resolved quickly, and you get free shipping. Better service than going through the manufacturer.Just be aware, that these only come with molle webbing on the back, unkess you opt for attachment methods. Also, the "gap" pouches do not line up with standard molle/pals fields, and take some ingenuity to mount sometimes. I'll use a malice clip on one row, then zip tie on the other, or get cteative with their velcro belt fasteners and some camo form tape, etc. This particular pouch only has one web column, so it isn't an issue.Remember that the malice clips are trimable. I see all these expert gunslingers with the locking part sticking out below their mag pouches, and it's not supposed to.Super tight fit at first, and I guess over time, the hold will loosen, and you can tighten it back up simply by heating the corner bends with a lighter, and squeezing together. Love that, because it can be done in the field. This is the superior method of carrying mags. No velcro or snap top to deal with, no bungy strap (not only are those a pain, but they shine under infrared, dry rot over time, act unpredictably, get in the way when reindexing, the list goes on...). Better than the more expensive "Taco" style pouches, that are awesome in theory and concept, but not in the long haul, having to replace the shock cord, and having little night vision neon strings all over your mag pouches. As if camouflaging your mags wasn't already a chore (that being said, Esstac pouches do shine a little, but maintain their camo pattern at least. Lesser of two evils, and easier to address, in my opinion). So yeah, 5 star pouch, substituting 5 star customer service through Amazon, for playing Russian Roulette with Esstac's. You can't beat that with a baseball bat.Since they're the best there is, I can't just choose another brand with better service. So, getting these through Amazon is pretty much a no-brainer.There are cheapie versions of this pouch (that aren't really even that much cheaper). Do not bother with those. This is the real deal.

Great mag holder
I love these mag holders. I use the malice clip system to attach to my range belt, but you can use belt clips or wtf straps too. If its not available on amazon Esstac sells em on their direct webpage. I've never had a mag fall out, and never had a problem pulling a mag out of the pouch. And if you take like an advanced pistol training, you'll be in some funky positions that will give your mags the opportunity to fall out if your pouches aren't quality. Esstac pouches are quality. Its all I use now, I've completely converted. 556 ones are baller too.

Hold mags quiet well
I like a non mechanical retention system, less motions to execute, these hold the msgs and don't let go, you gotta be a man though when going for the pull because if your hopped up on soy and or have a man bun your going to have a hard time.

5 stars. These are the best
I use them for belts and chest rigs. These are excellent. I own probably 30 kywi mag pouches of various mag sizes. None will ever let you down. So I guess I am a fan boy lol. These I use and set up for others for field work in and out of country.

Should be on every belt
Stays in the pouch until I physically try to take it out. Nice kydex insert in the cudora with perfect tension.
