In the spring time a lot of towns use more chemicals in the potable drinking water for a few months because of spring run off of water tributaries. I can't stand the taste of the water in spring time especially so this simple filter does wonders to clear out some of those chemicals and makes a cup of coffee taste better IMO.Brita had a good deal on this great water facet filtering system so why not. This unit has a brass thread insert molded in the plastic housing where it attaches to the facet and is superior to other models for not coming off IMO. I have been using these units for about 10 years now.

I have had Brita filters for years, but a recent plumbing emergency left us with a new expensive Moen faucet. Unfortunately Brita was not able to get us any adapters that would fit it. I had to give this away.
