This thing bumps!
Most impressive: Sound qualityThe sound on this thing is excellent for a bluetooth connection! Usually, I experience a noticable 20-30% decrease in sound quality when using bluetooth connectivity but that does not exist with this speaker. I was not expecting such robust sound design from a small speaker. You can enhance the sound with your device's EQ to make it sound even better. The sound output level does not change much when you hook up an aux cord, which is how I will be using it for an art installation project outdoors.I have yet to put it to the power/solar/outdoor test but that is happening next --- so I'm crossing my fingers for an all-out excellent product. The couple of minor criticisms I have is that the volume button build is a bit weird, you have to push really hard to activate those and the battery indicator light; also, you cannot disable the bluetooth function, which means the indicator light is always on and I'm wondering how much power it is going to drain. Hopefully it is not always trying to pair with some device, even with the aux cord plugged in; there should be a bypass, otherwise any bluetooth device could hijack your speaker! **Update on this** While you have an aux cord connected, any bluetooth connection made post aux cord plug in will be disregarded by unit and sound will not play from bluetooth connection until aux cord is removed.*Additional note - if you use the integrated power bank as an output charger, beware that this will drain your battery quickly. Don't count on piggybacking for any extended duration of time unless you are able to charge the speaker each day. I was trying to use it as a self-contained power source for the solar battery and an external looped mp3 player. Had to buy an external solar battery pack to power mp3 separately and am investing in a portable solar panel as a backup for power bank and solar speaker, along with mp3.VERY happy with purchase considering the outdoor use and tricky logistics!

DOES NOT CHARGE - electrical short
The day i purchased this speaker and turned it on i tried plugging several devices into the headphone jack to play them, it was clear that it had a short as the speaker would output feedback and noise without any music. I thought nothing of it since the bluetooth seemed to work well, but even when i left it outside all day in full sun the battery would lose charge even with the unit turned OFF. this was frustrating as this is a really cool idea. I attribute the lack of charge to the short, obviously something inside the electronics is draining the battery and causing it to drain while in the sun for consecutive all sunny days with no rain. This product would be awesome if it actually worked as advertised.

Everything works well, bass it noticeable. Not as Loud as I had hoped though. Still 5 Stars
Ordered this after having the Ecoxgear XBT for 2 years as I had lost the back of it making it not waterproof anymore.Giving this five stars as it does exactly as it's supposed to, It's waterproof, the buttons feel like real buttons, the back door seal doesn't just come off it's actually attached so I won't lose it like my last speaker. You can actually notice the bass from the small sub, it's not a whole lot as it is a small sub but noticeable. The solar panel is nice, I can stick it in my window during the day to charge, and use it at my job for the night shift. Black/Orange mix looks really good.Cons: Not as loud as I thought it would be, I use it at my work on night shift, I work night shift with loud Stove/Oven Fans, turned all the way up even it is still kind of quiet compared. Also compared to the XBT I feel as if it is quiet. Can't link multiple speakers to one phone. If I were to purchase again, I might choose one that is able to do so in my work environment.

Crisp sound, good bass; made to last!
Awesome little speaker! I bought it because it doubles as a solar battery bank for camping. The sound is crisp and has good bass! It seems very well built, just like my Eco Boulder! My only complaint is that it made a pop sound and shut itself off when I tried charging my MP3 player while playing music. Maybe it was a feedback loop?? I powered it on after a minute and it continued to work beautifully (without charging it). There seems to be no damage and the sound is still crystal clear! Tough little speaker, I love it!!

Good sound, but it couldn't stand the heat
This speaker sounds great, considering it's compact and easy to take with you in a backpack (or, in my case, an ammo can/dry box). I bought the Sol Jam shortly before embarking on a week-long Idaho river trip in August. Conditions were warm (80s-90s) and the skies were clear. The speaker was fully charged when we hit the water and it played music all day (at less than 100% volume). We kept it tethered to the raft frame and out in direct sunlight, however, by mid-day on the second day, it was low on power and would start shutting down. We left it off all day and attempted to charge it in the sun, but to no avail. It's quite possible that the unit got too hot in the sun, but...how else are you supposed to power the battery of a solar-powered device? I returned it a week after the trip.

Does everything it says it does well.
Giving this a 5 star "Love It" rating. Perfect size for what I need. This is not my first bluetooth speaker. Great sound. Couple of tips for those reviews who didn't like the sound or was not loud enough. Make sure to try all of the EQ settings on your phone or device. I found for Apple Iphone 8 was Jazz, Rock or Loudness setting best overall. Other settings including default sound flat. Seems the Iphone 8 cranked full on is about as loud as I want it. Run the same song on a Samsung Galaxy at full blast and you are close to blowing speakers! So device does matter. And I think Apple has toned down their max volume settings. Love the phone answering feature too. Does everything it says it does well.

Best Solar speaker on the market
Amazing speaker and great quality. I have not yet charged it since I bought it 3 months ago. I only use solar. It is loud with great sound quality and I have left it in the rain twice.

Quality is better than I expected
Quality is better than I expected. The sound is very solid with exceptional clarity. I am very pleased with the purchase. I was disappointed with the extra shipping costs when amazon claimed shipping costs included

Works ok but does not charge off solar pane. wish it had a bigger battery and was louder.
It’s sounds good and worked without any issues but if try charge a phone off it the battery in the speaker drains down very quickly. Used it fishing in the rain for two days and still showed it was charging with full cloud cover but no matter how long it sat in full sun the battery meter would never increase. Will charge fine through usb but will not charge at all through the solar panel. I don’t realize it wasn’t working until after a month so I guess I’m out of luck on returning it. Is not a loud as would like either.
