Q: What is the green oval item that came with this set, sealed in plastic with no opening? Looks like it's made out of sponge-like material.

Just a regular sponge. It expands when you cut open the vacuum sealed wrapper.

Q: Is the pad “padded”? I had a similar one and the pad was very thin and really useless.

It does have a thin pad but seems to do the job. I love this tool for cleaning my blinds as well as the car windows.

How long is the rectangle where the cloth attaches? I have one that is 6” long and all the replacement cloths I have found are only 5 “.
