Petmate Litter Pan, Blue/Gray, Jumbo

When I was looking for a new litter box on Amazon, I found you can spend an absolute fortune on them, and many are way too small for a large cat, and you're just asking for problems if you buy a dinky one.We opted for the extra large version (looks like they call it jumbo now), and it was under ten bucks when we bought it. This is a nice big inexpensive litter box. We bought it for our second cat, who doesn't get on too well with our first cat.It's nice and sturdy, not brittle. Stays flat on the floor.Initially I used a lot of litter in the box, but that was a waste. Now I put a pile of litter on one side of the box, and the cats move it around, and enjoy. And it's easier to sift through.The litter stays in it for the most part, unlike the smaller one we have in a different room, for which we needed one of those litter mats. The high walls help, especially when they get into a digging mood.It seems to be the litter box of choice for our FIRST cat, who insists on using it now, which is probably passive-aggressive cat behavior.It doesn't seem to collect odors, and cleanup is pretty easy, it's pretty good in terms of being non-stick, and the size helps in terms of maneuvering our big litter shovel/scoop.It's essentially a giant inexpensive non-stick dishpan, but if you have the space for it, your cats will love it.

My cat is an elderly lady and I noticed that sometimes she "missed" when using her smaller litter box. This box is bigger and she seems to like it better. Now I actually use both litter boxes as I have read that some cats prefer to have a second box. I think the new litter box "suggestion" is to have one more litter box than you have cats. She will use both of them from time to time and she has much fewer "accidents". A nice big, sturdy litter box that I suspect will last a very long time. She's happy and so is my nose.

I've tried the 'cave' one, the super high sides ones, and while they all have their charm, the end result is they are difficult to clean. I'm not sure why this one works so well, but it does. Nothing sticks to it, because once it does then that will be a hot spot thereafter!! It may not look charming, but efficiency and ease are more important to me now. My little ole lady kitty much prefers it to the more complicated ones so we are both happy.

I ordered this litter tray for our pet bunny, so that it covers a larger part of her toilet area and makes for easier cleaning, when compared to a smaller litter tray.I did trim a corner off, to provide her an entrance way.The only thing I would say, as a negative, is that it’s expensive for a plastic tray, but apart from that, it’s easy to clean and it does what’s intended. I ordered it because it was the size that I was looking for, so overall, I’m pleased with it.
