Hey everyone, this food thermometer is all that and gets the job done. I haven't used it that many times and now I need some batteries. The only thing is that it needs to be USB adapter...lol

Been needing a temp sensor that doesn't require touching the object. Works great.

Instructions say to open the battery door and insert battery, but don't point out where the battery door is. Looking at the unit logic told me it is in the handle and it takes 2 AA batteries that are provided. I tested by taking temp by my digital thermostat and the reading were the same. Good value for the money.

This was bought as a Xmas present for my husband, and he LOVES it! It was exactly what he was looking for, and has all of the features that he wanted. He had fun checking out the temperature of various things and areas around the house, and got the attention of our dog, who goes absolutely BONKERS for lasers! SCORE! This was two gifts in one!

Works well for getting temps on objects but not food which is what we were buying it for.

For the price, this is a great product. I bought this for random temp readings for my boat motor, but have found it most useful in the kitchen...especially reading oil temps when cooking.My wife tends to "wing it" when cooking in hot oil and has smoked out the house and burned pans. When i showed her how easy it was to get a temp reading with this gun, i didnt have to worry about a fire anymore!

This is not a bad thermo gun for the $. If you know or can figure out, or learn from the directions and chart. How to calibrate ( use an anolog or basic thermometer to use as your standard temp.) And set the EMS according to the included chart. Than you can get a pretty accurate temp. reading, within +_- 1 deg. To change from c to f hold down the left button for a second or 2 turn off the laser using the right button. The middle button selects the modes, which will be shown on the screen. Then use the r+ l buttons to change values up or down. It works the same as they all do. None of these are automatic. They come from the factory with pre set defaults. But you can change them. So for the $ this one does the same thing just as good as the more expensive models. And with Amazon if you don't like it call them they will send you a different model and give you a free return label.
