Great item even though I returned it
Awesome product, build quality very very good. Would be better if there was an adjustable diopter, I wear glasses and the screen was way too close I could obtain focus. I had to purchase 2.5x reading glasses to compensate for this. This made wearing the goggles a bit awkward. Focal length markings on the focus wheel would also be helpful! The SD card slot is in a odd position making it difficult to take card out or reinsert it. A little bit of a wider FOV would also be nice. Even if in the form of an attachment you can buy to make it wider. A lens cover or hood would be welcomed while the goggles are being stored or not used. The output video is very good so there are no issues as far as that is concerned. I look forward to the next version of these goggles.

Without a Purpose, This is a $300 Toy.
I know a lot of people are dunking on the product. It’s not like the product doesn’t function. It works well, it provides night vision, and I can see my entire backyard and farther with them. Here are a few pros and cons to make a purchase for this item easier for others:Pros:- Fairly lightweight for the technology on your head. Though obviously does feel heavy without something such as a counterbalance on the head-strap.- Provides I’d say 8/10 night vision. Works well, and it can see a bit farther than most reviews say. I’d say to about advertised range.- Decent battery life.- Resolution! Super good! The 1920x1080p is actually very crisp for a camera when adjusted with the focus dial.- Refresh rate? Solid 60hz. I cannot reasonably complain. Very solid.- Design? 6.5 or 7/10. Nightfox logo is clean. From an outside perspective, you look like a dork without any face coverings while wearing these. They don’t look horrible, but not great by any means.Cons:- It’s essentially a $300 toy. Unless you frequent urban exploring and want to be hidden, or want to look like Splinter Cell, these goggles essentially have no typical use. These aren’t useful for hunting either in my opinion.- Disorientation while walking. I wish there’d be something closer to a 0x magnification, because walking with these feels very weird. The camera is obviously in front of where you actually are.- No SD card. The description and website for this product DOES state you do not get an SD card. The information booklet however doesn’t make that so clear. The wording in the manual insinuates there is a card included, but it’s just saying there is capability for a 32gb slot.- Lenses aren’t protected. Not entirely useful for Airsoft as there aren’t covers on this model. Nightfox does this thing where they lock specific features behind specific products. It’s not, “Each product that costs more money gets more” it’s, “Each product that costs more gets improved features, but we’ll actually remove some as well. For example, while the Nightfox Cape can be considered a direct predecessor to the Red, and it features a lens protector while the Red does not. It’s just odd to me that these aren’t included, as that may help justify the price range.- The charging port. I have a fairly big head comparatively to others. While wearing the Red and having it charge, I can feel the USB cable pushing against my head. It’s uncomfortable, and I know I’m bending the cord while doing so.- The buttons. They work and work well, and it’s not like they’re broken. But why is the unit advertised to be silent when the buttons are like clicking a CRT monitor? It’s very loud, and defeats the whole “Covert Operations” spiel it’s advertised for.Things I haven’t Tested:- Camera and Recording. I don’t have an SD card handy, and won’t be buying one to test this out. Cannot remember, but I believe it was either the Swift or the Red that slows down viewing refresh rate while recording and not plugged in. Do your own research though.Hopefully this review was helpful. Will be returning these sadly. I wish I could justify keeping them, but the price is too steep to keep as a toy. I would rather but a FLIR monocular for double or more this, or save up for a PVS-14. Those cost FAR more, but they are far more versatile imo.On sale for more than 33% off? These might be worth it as a cool gag to roam for hide and seek with friends or exploration. But for a typical buyer such as myself? Not worth the price tag. Overall 4/5 stars, the device does what is advertised, BUT, it does not fit it's assigned store categories. Hunting and Airsoft? I guarantee you a bee bee will crack lenses with direct contact, and for hunting? You cannot move around efficiently. You would be far better off getting a thermal monocular for hunting, or even airsoft. It can be improved in so many ways, but sadly at the moment this products justifies nothing more than the hole it burns in your pocket.

Big disappointment.
Big disappointment. I'm not kidding when I say you would have much better night vision using your virtual reality (VR) game headset. My VR headset has a much better fit and wider range of vision. Trying to function, like walking, is nearly impossible with the Night Fox because the range of vision is so narrow. It's like trying to navigate in the dark looking through an empty paper tower tube. If you wear glasses....forget it. This item may be useful if you were to stay in one place and observe, or use it for performing tasks two feet from your face. This product should be priced at $50, for $300?....an absolute waste.

If you wear reading glasses you may not be able to get the image focused
This is a well made product however my problem is that I wear reading glasses and so I can't get a crisp picture on the screen with the focus wheel. Because the screen is only centimetres from my eyes I would need to have glasses that puts an image into focus that close to my face when using them, and that will defeat the point of using the head mount. With other hand held digital night vision I can hold them away from my face and get a respectably clear image, such as with the Nightfox Vulpes which I've also purchased and found to be very good for their price point. If you wear glasses I'd recommend that type of model rather than head mount like these. If your eyesight is like mine you will be holding them out in front of you to get the best focus.

Great value/product.
This is my first foray into nightvision. But for the features, quality and value, you can't go wrong. Just DON'T do the firmware update that you will find online. I had to return my first Nightfox Red because it corrupted the unit. According to the company, the new Red's have the newest firmware. And will work with up to a 512 GB micro sd.

It's like looking at a 90s Nokia screen.
As for the night vision, it did work kinda. The range of the night vision was not even 25yards. The digital zoom just made the picture worse. The manual focus really doesn't help the situation that you have a 480p screen sitting against your eyes. You have to be crosseyed to focus on the screen. The battery indicator did not work, at full battery, a days worth of charging, it would go dead in about a hour and a half of use on full IR.For the headache you get, quality. Just spend your money on the modern warfare dark edition NVGs. They are cheaper and have dual screens so you don't have to be crosseyed, there's no gasket, so you still have peripheral vision, they have longer range, and about the same graphics.I wouldn't get the night fox reds again, not worth the money.

Good product but big issue!
The night vision is great for beginners, BUT my googles came with a really cheap battery that would not change at all the only time the headset would turn on was when it was plugged in. So I had to pay 40$ extra to get a replacement battery locally.

Good NV
The media could not be loaded. Sorry, writing on this description is going to be quite short since for some reason Amazon decided to delete it after I submitted it :/It's a good device, and performs rather well.Auto focus, optical zoom, support for more than 32GB cards (which is just a firmware issue they should be able to fix quite easily), multiple cameras for depth perception, and many other features would be amazing. However, it's still a budget NVG set, and you can see that in the product. I'm sure Nightfox have considered these upgrades, but aren't doing them due to the cost. However, in my opinion it still seems to be the best budget digital IR NVG's available.

Awesome goggles
use them mounted on my helmet with an extension. They do a great job. Make sure to buy additional batteries if you plan to do multiple days hunting and other activities.

Good so far, not sure I have pushed the limits yet
Quite impressed so far, tested in a dark building and the garden. Will be used for filming fire-breathing band instruments and urban exploring in very dark/dangerous/abandoned buildings. I like the ability to alter the intensity of the IR lamp, and the fact it records audio as well as video.

Pretty good
Weirdly, when you watch back on a laptop the image is much brighter/the object you were watching is better illuminated than it appeared when watching directly. Battery life is not great but overall these are a great bit of kit.
