Does not have a drum sound
I bought this assuming it would have a realistic drum sound, but it only has a fake beeping tone. Very disappointing. I would not have purchased this if I had known that.

Okay for beginners, but...
The media could not be loaded. To start, I am a beginner all around. I took a very brief trip into music when I was a kid, but never went far at all. By comparison, my wife plays piano, flute, and was in marching band. In the last year she’s teaching herself guitar and I just got her a ukulele - it’s smaller and easier to pull out from time to time in a busy life. We both have always been fascinated by the drums so I’ve gotten us some practice pads to start playing around and - at least for her - have a chance to learn the skill. To that end, I grabbed this Percussion Practice Devices and Built-in Electronic Metronome 2 in 1 (BLACK) to help in that process. I have little to go on as far as comparison, but this pad so far hasn’t done all that much for me. A few things are not things I feel are best: 1. you have to unscrew the battery lid and re-screw it back on using a fairly small screw (Phillips head). This makes it a bit of a pain - we would not use is as often and would not keep the batteries in it so this takes time. But even if you would, it’s a small screw and not the easiest. Why not just make it like most other battery covers - far easier to get on/off. 2. I was not thrilled with the tinny sound of the beat. 3. You have to go through the rotation of beats - having to remember which ones you like to use or don’t. It’s very basic. What I do like: 1. It isa good weight - not too heavy, but substantial to hold itself in place. 2. It’s forgiving - I’m totally new and I don’t feel stupid using it. 3. It’s a decent pad in that I can hear the beat and figure it out and in turn, for me as a beginner, it sounds decent. My wife’s more practiced opinion is that it is good for beginners to help them keep a beat, but she does not like the sound of the drum - please refer to the included video. She thinks it annoying and not something she’d ever use. In the end, I think it comes down to 1. it does work for beginners, but 2. how do you like or not the sound, and 3. what would you get from the metronome vs. just a practice pad? 100% personal taste, so I provide a video to help you decide.
