I used this square file to make square holes in steel to accept 3/8" carriage bolts. It cut quickly and clean.

Though this is what I would call 'budget' file, it features a hardness factor of HRC65 which places this file up high among some of the toughest in the DIY industry. I know a lot about steel, and this file has certainly outperformed many more expensive files. I am extremely pleased with it and therefore smug for finding an absolute bargain.Buy it.
