Robust and stylish rod
I bought the rod as a Christmas present for myself. I haven't used it yet, I'm planning to when the weather warms up and will use it for spinning and light lures. It feels like a great four piece rod, feels and looks like its made with high quality, and though its light, it also feels strong. I guess that it could easily handle catching big perch, to medium size pike. I'm really looking forward to using it. Its also very small and portable when taken apart, and it comes in a nice rod bag. Would be very easy to fit in a suitcase or rucksack, and take on holiday, or keep in the boot of your car.

4 piece, light, sturdy and pack lite. Odd oversize eyelet sticks out
I have the 2 piece as well but wanted this 4 piece to put in my rucksack. As expected its strong, sturdy and is perfect for spinning. The tube packaging is sadly throwaway (would have loved something to protect it that's to size). The sleeve is good though, with separate compartments for each piece. One bug bear I've never understood is why the first eyelet is unproportionately big in comparison to the rest. Sure there's a pro fishing reason for it to be somewhat bigger, but this is comically bigger than the rest which means that it doesn't fit back into the tubing properly and when you roll the sleeve it sticks out like a sore thumb and will likely snap or break at some point - I had to wrap in foam to protect it in my rucksack so lost the space I was trying to save.I'd still highly recommend it as there aren't many at this quality and size, with snug and solid connection at each section, so would just like a bit more thought into the primary use of being a travel rod (next time I might take my pen rod as I'd rather trade the strength for slimline)

Good for beginners
Nice wee solid rod bit heavier than most light fishing rods but doesn’t really have any bend in it for casting

Good budget travel rod
This is the 6'6" travel rod - (not 6'9" as listed) - I haven't had a chance to try it out yet but I've added some photos to show the actual item since the main picture on the Amazon listing is of a different rod. First impressions; it's a budget rod with a black foam handle and slightly flimsy feeling light plastic reel seat, once the reel is in it sits snugly enough. It gives the same feeling of sturdy construction I know from my other Ugly Stik rods and should be good in use. The compact size and light weight when packed down means it would fit easily in most rucksacks or suitcases. For £28 I'm very happy with it - I'll be out to give it a try out soon.

Shakespeare should be ashamed to put their name on this!
I received this at 4.15pm today, it's now 4.45pm, and this thing is already boxed to go back, and the return arranged. I'm shocked at how bad this is, especially shocked that Shakespeare would put their name on something as shoddy as this. Before I start I'd just like to say that I've fished since I was about 10 years old, I'm 70 now, during this time I've had countless rods of all price ranges, but this takes the prize for undoubtedly being the worst quality rod I've ever bought! I got this on Amazon Prime day for £36 instead of £44, but to be honest I wouldn't have it at any price, it's that bad.Apart from the fact that the rod tip is bent, the manufacture and general finish of this rod is shocking. The whole rod looks and feels cheap and nasty, and for a for a 6' 6" rod with a relatively lightweight casting range of between 5-15gms, it has a surprisingly fat and heavy blank, this is not a lightweight rod, and it has an action like a broomstick! Sorry can't think of anything good to say about this rod whatsoever and certainly would'nt recommend it to anyone.

Perfect travel rod for spinning
I wanted a lightweight rig that would store easily in my car and this rod is perfect, connects together well with a good casting action. I’ve also bought a lite 2000 reel with 20lb braid to complete the rig. Says 15g lures on the rod but I’m using 18g to 28g with no issues. I can’t comment on the cork handle issue that some mention as the rod matches the images on the posting exactly with black foam grips. If you want something that packs down small with a good action this rod will do the job.

Good rod but they’ll do anything to get out of honouring the 7 year guarantee
This was a useful travel addition to my kit but the ceramic guide rings are flawed and two came away within a couple of years. Customer service flat refused to honour the guarantee even though Ugly Stik have now discontinued their ceramic rings in favour of stainless steel. Obviously they knew there was a problem then but when it came to getting a replacement they initially told me the rings aren’t covered by the guarantee (the guarantee actually says nothing about what is and is not covered) and then claimed I must have damaged them. For a £40 rod you’d think they’d just do the right thing but at every stage from claiming a non existent exclusion in the guarantee to subjectively claiming the rod had been damaged they were hell bent on avoiding giving a replacement for a problem with the rod well known to them.

Great rod - 6ft6 travel rod 4 piece
Just came today. It took under a week for it to arrive to Denmark. The rod comes in a black tube, where in it, there is another tube, with the rod in it. The rod comes with a fold up travel bag, which is actually pretty great. The rod it self is of great quality, and i can't wait to use it later this evening. The joints fits great, and there shouldnt be any trouble with it.Great buy.
