Worth a try for this price
The efficacy of peppermint oil for gastrointestinal problems is not well-documented; even if it works, the method of delivery may be critical. The coating on these capsules is sufficient to stop the oil burning your gullet on the way down, but I'm not sure how long the coating will stand up to stomach acid. If your condition requires that the oil make it all the way to the colon, these capsules probably won't do much good. For stomach cramps, perhaps better. Peppermint does increase acid reflux in some people, and in the longer term that might make some people's symptoms worse. In short, there's really no way to know whether these will work without trying; thankfully you're not losing a fortune if it turns out they don't work. The oil in these capsules is pretty concentrated, and I suspect most people can expect to have a bit of a minty experience of one sort or other after taking one, whether they work or not.A number of people have complained that they aren't vegetarian, and that's true -- if you look at a close-up image of the packaging you can see bovine (cow) gelatine among the ingredients. I suspect that many medical products are not strictly vegetarian, but only the most discerning veggies even notice, because they aren't labelled clearly. At least this product is honest on this point.
