Clarks Universal Bicycle Bike Gear Derailleur & Brake Cable Set - Stainless Steel "BLACK"

When I bought this in December 2018 the items supplied were not the Clarks brand pack 8012BLACK shown on the Amazon page but an outer brake cable supplied loose and the remainder of the kit in clear plastic bags. No Clarks brand packaging whatsoever was supplied.DiscPads Direct doesn't state the length of the 8012 outer brake cable in its promotion on Amazon. Other retailers of this product do. It is 2100mm, not the 1680mm supplied.I needed enough outer cable for a front brake and a full run to the rear brake. The outer cable supplied wasn’t long enough to do the job.

Top notch cables for a fiver or so and superior even to far more expensive sets.Spiral wound brake outers and linear compression gear outers with end ferrules for both diameters. Good inner cables with double ended brake wires to fit both upright and drop bars. Cable crimps also included.You will need a solid pair of cutters to fit these without compression or fraying (especially the gear outers) - I have a pair of  these  which do the job very well.I have ample relevant experience and recommend these cables wholeheartedly. Bought with my own money, I have not been 'compensated' for this review.

These weren't sold as depicted in the advert picture, so I'm hoping they are genuine products. They came in absolutely NO Clarke packaging.... Why would you falsely advertise something, it leads to alot of doubt on the buyers part.

Brilliant quality cable set at a great price.I used this to re-cable my 1977 Raleigh road race bike.As you would expect, It has absolutely everything you need to do the complete job from start to finish. Inners, outers, cable ends, ferrules and even the little frame saving "donuts".The quality of the stainless steel cables is fantastic.The outer cables are also quality items.You will need a quality pair of wire cutters to cut this cable.Plenty of cable left over, so can't imagine a situation where the cables supplied would not be long enough.Remember that there is a shorter length cable for the front brake. Measure twice, cut once !In short, can't go wrong with this cable set. Would highly recommend.

Many universal kits are rubbish. Clarks universal kit gives you the narrower 1.2mm gear cable and the wider 1.6mm brake cable. The brake cables are double ended, so just cut off the head that doesn't suit you road/MTB bike.It cuts well and reassuring to know it's all stainless steel. (I bought an even cheaper ebay universal set and the cut ends arrived rusty). The packaging tends to arrive beaten up, but no bits missing. All good

Ordered from disk pads direct. Unfortunately an error in the supply, however one email to them and the matter was resolved to my satisfaction VERY quickly and professionally. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending this supplier. The product was also exactly as advertised and fitted perfectly.

I was surprised just how much you get in the pack. As they were so cheap I didn't really read through all of the pack contents prior to purchase. I was only after a single brake cable. Value for money is great at the current price. They look identical to Shimano cables and after a couple of rides feel no different.If I have any issues I'll provide an update, otherwise assume all is working well.
