Compared to the original very close and love the detail poses and stands well

This is a mixed bag… what you get is certainly good quality in terms of packaging and manufacture but I know I’m not alone when I say that, really, I just wanted the head hands and axe. I have now built my “perfect” He Man using two of the basic figure and this Savage version’s parts.Orko is pretty cool, and quite an identifiable icon in its own right so certainly pads out the package.The problem is that whilst the Savage head sculpt is a superior option to the one found on the first He Man Masterverse figure, it isn’t particularly well representative of Savage He Man as seen in the Revelation cartoon! He has a frown, but many sculpts of He Man have frowned over the years, even the original (actually he may have just had a bout of constipation / wind), but in the Revelation cartoon he was BERSERK. Therefore what you get in this pack is not ACTUALLY what you need for a representation of that appearance…This is clearly not happenstance. Mattel have made a lot of money over the years with “weapon packs” and alternate heads packaged in with other figures… in order to make “perfect” versions of the 200X takes on the characters you would be looking at three or four separate purchases! Where this irks me with Masterverse is that they aren’t really being coy about it this time; they released a fairly spartan first crack at the hero, with a very “Stretch Armstrong” head. They then started with reusing the “buck” tool immediately with Faker and Savage - each with spare parts or pieces that whilst not ESSENTIAL to your collection would drastically enhance the overall quality of one “Frankenstein” figure.So here is my He Man so far, at a total cost approximately £70…

Was not sure at first if I wanted this figure. When it arrived it looked really good both in the box and out, very happy now that I made the purchase of this He-Man figure.

Back in the 1980s Masters of the Universe was one of the biggest toy lines and bridged the gap between fantasy and sci-fi and even draw upon horror. He-Man was the first MOTU (masters of the Universe) figure I even had and this is the closest depiction since the original release.Today I relived a part of my childhood when He-Man was delivered by the postman. I hadn’t wanted to collect this line as the Masters of the Universe was (and is still) the best MOTU line in my opinion but I relented and glad I did. However, it lacked one thing: the bright colours.This toy is near perfect but lacks the articulation of Classics. The ab crunch, swivel at the biceps and However, it makes up for being an direct sequel to the original and even has even brighter colours.As for packaging, this is a real treat for fans. The artwork is beautiful and if your a mint-on-card collector you won’t be disappointed. You can see this is really made for fans of the old toyline.

I received this on Sunday 2 May and it came well packaged. The overall figure is nice and the alternate head is a near faithful accurate reproduction of the original Mattel release of the 80s - to my mind this is much better than the 'Scooby Doo' shocked look that comes fitted!The battle damage gimmick works well despite the window being smaller than on the original figure - which means using your thumbs/ fingers to rotate the battle damage wheel in the middle a bid fiddly. The sword holster on the back is a nice touch. The blast FX piece for use with the sword is a welcome addition for added playability. The axe is of the same mould as the original He-Man Origins figure. Then there is the added closed hand.Textless comic aside it's worth noting that the laced boots are not coloured! The US release received yellow painted laces. This is the only detail that seems to be omitted from the EU release which is disappointing - so a star knocked off for that alone. Some of the images attributed to this listing on the Amazon site are incorrect. The packaged image shows what you'll receive.Overall it's a worthy purchase being only a few £ more to get extras packaged with it. I hope that the Deluxe Skelator becomes available at a similar price point.

This is generally a pretty great figure. The sculpt is detailed and expressive, the figure has a nice solid heft to it - and parts are designed to pop-off rather than break - and the articulation is good, creating nice poseability (and crucially it can stand properly without assistance). It feels convincingly like a true faithful update of the 80s He-Man that isn't trying to be more than it needs to be.The only issues I have with it are that the sword is a bit naff, as it has a clear, flat back to it (with pegs and holes visible). Now, this is faithful to the original figure and a gimmick where you're supposed to put it together with Skeletor's sword to do something in Castle Greyskull, but frankly I'd have just preferred a sword with two proper sides that looks good from all angles. As it is, you have to work around its limitations.The other, minor issue, is that the pack-in toy comic has no dialogue. Having seen tri- and even quad-lingual pack-in comics before, I can understand the desire to avoid that for this international release of the figure and while the comic is intelligible enough without dialogue, I can't help but think that just putting the English version in would have been the better option for everyone. Non-English speakers might not have been able to read it, but they could have at least tried to translate it. Now everyone gets nothing. It's a bit odd.

For those of us wanting an MOTU Line that would match up to the quality and posebility of Marvel Legends we've almost got it here. There's some odd design choices like being unable to get the arms to fully straighten, and those weird hip joints being on a flexi-bar that feels like it will sheer off every time you move them. But overall it's a fairly good quality figure if you're ok with the aesthetic and that fairly gormless expression. It's certainly not a "Classic" He-Man, and there are better figures in some of the later Waves, but it's a good start.
