Disappointing sound quality.
Acceptable, but sound quality is not as good as I had expected; rather "tinny"!

Broken after only three week
Only had this item for just under a month and the play button does not work rendering the item useless. Very disappointing.

Mono not stereo
Like other reviews have said, this unit is not a stereo unit ( despite a mention of 'stereo' in the product pictures ). Straight out of the box this player seems solid enough. The tape speed was fine and did not need adjustment ( checked using a speed reference tape). Azimuth was also okay, although I probably will 'tweak' it at some point. Playback through headphones is okay but as this is a mono device there will not be any stereo separation ( just in case you didn't know already). Playback through the speaker is okay also. Think of listening to something on your mobile phone speaker. I think this device would be well suited to dictation use.
