Worked great until it failed
a Bemoth of a docking station. I'd got all the ports filled with various HDD's and all ports worked. On my iMac, one thing I didn't like was, if you undocked one hard drive, all hard drives were ejected and then the remaining hard drives re-mounted. This device helped me consolidate my data and then I primarily used it for reading hard drives from failed systems for data recovery purposes.Unfortunately one day it just stopped working, didn't recognise any hard drives, nothing showed in disk utility, tried it on a windows system and a similar thing with Disk Management, no disks showed up that were sat in any of the docks.I never used the cloning facility so I can't say anything about that.To summarise, worked great for a while and then failed.

A Cost effective way to expand your storage capacity
I do video production and the thought of re-newing my computer filled me with dread...... however this product has enabled me to take the old HDs from my old PC and connect them by usb 3 to the new system allowing no loss in data. So I ha e been able to keep my extensive library of captured material intact ....... I’m so impressed.

Good solid hardware that gets the job done.
It's early days, but this has worked well so far and I've had the previous model from the same seller for years and that has given me reliable service. This appears to be the same but with the clone function added. It is plastic, but quite solid and won't bend if you pick it up full of heavy drives. It takes up to 4 x 6TB drives (probably larger capacity drives too, but I can't test that yet).I won't be using it for cloning, but in PC mode (switch on the back) it presents the drives in windows like any others so you can treat them as individual drives. You can buy fully enclosed models, but they are bulkier and being enclosed they need a fan which means they must be larger still and you can't simply drop a drive in.One flaw seems to be that unlike the previous models it does not power down the drives when idle. If connected to windows it will only power down the drives when they are dismounted (or if the PC is turned off). I had to take off a star for that as it is a step backwards.
