Day-to-day Welsh - EXCELLENT
Everything you need for speaking day-to-day Welsh. Includes: how to greet people, speak about yourself, begin to write a letter, how to tell the time, talk about the weather, how to read street signs, out and about in town, how to ask someone for directions, in a restaurant, cafe, pub, chapel, going shopping, food and drink, the post office and chemist, visiting a doctor or dentist, B&B, camping, the internet, the home, entertainment, taxis, trains and buses, sports, using the telephone, emergencies, numbers, fractions and measures, with an important section on just the necessary points of Welsh grammar. There's also a small dictionary of Welsh into English and English into Welsh. What more could you ask for? It really is a remarkable book and at the price - it's a giveaway!

A Pocket Book Full of Welsh phrases!
This is a handy little pocket book which you can hide away and practise Welsh as and when you like. I love the size of it and the fact that the book is written in scenarios, so when you go to the tafarn (pub) you can ask for cwrw, (beer) just like a local. Go to the bank and the phrases you need to find out about your account are there. Even at the dentist you will be given phrases to say what is wrong with you! An absolute gem of a book which I rate very highly!

A good, useful and modern phrasebook
Very happy with the book and it has been very useful so far as I learn Welsh. It's broken down into scenarios and sections (shopping, restaurants, etc.) and I find the phonetics column very helpful when needing to know how to pronounce the more difficult words. A good dictionary is tagged on at the end also and serves as a useful reference. The only way I'd like to see it improved is to make the physical size of the book a little smaller as like the Lonely Planet Phrasebook series - so it can easily fit into pockets, etc...Other than that, really happy with it and shall use it often as a reference.

Superbly organised and designed.
I'm very impressed with this phrasebook, having bought a number of other guides over the past year. As well as being splendidly organised as a phrase book, it has enough grammar in a separate section to be useful in learning the language properly. It is beautifully designed and laid out, with every phrase transcribed phonetically. What I'd very much like to see, on a website or a CD perhaps, is every phrase spoken, page by page.

good reminder
not lived in wales for a long time now. my welsh is abysmal. This little book serves as a simple reminder of phrases in common use,a springboard which hopefully will awaken my memory. Will be equally useful for those with no welsh to get on the ladder, if only to understand some of the phrases used around them in welsh speaking areas. Distinctions (sometimes) between S & N Walian wording. Very useful - glad I bought it.

Street-Wesh, a mystery.
I have Mr. Gruffudd's 'Hands Free Welsh' which compliments this book.It is a difficult subject to learn. The books do a good job but with the Street Welsh I found for instance, that 'dd' is pronounced 'th' then we are shown the incorrect description in the guide section. It's simply baffling.eg: ' at midday ' ganol dydd gahnol deedd. By the rule shouldn't that be ' deeth ' ? And there's more. Very frustrating.
