Liked the gel foam but I'd like a thicker pad for my old bones

The Obusforme Gel Seat is widely reviewed here on Amazon, so I'll just attempt to add some additional info via photos and with a few quick personal observations.While I am pleased with this item overall, I'll first mention that I was expecting a 'seat' (due to the photo of a 'seat'). It's not REALLY a seat. If a distinction helps, I'd be inclined to call this a 'sitting pad.' Calling this a 'gel seat' is a little ambitious. It does have a gel layer, though not really much gel. This is a memory foam pad with a thin mesh layer of gel added.I'm giving 4 stars ... in part due to the fact that I can't give 3.5 stars. However, a score of 70% would be fitting from my perspective. I feel a little more gel and a little more foam would have made it near perfect. Otherwise, the size is okay ... and the cover materials used are, as usual, good quality from Obusforme.All in all, a more accurate description and photo depiction in the item's commercial packaging would have been very helpful for me when I was trying to decide on this item vs. competing makes and models.Concerning the overall quality, I suspect it will last quite a while. I use this at work for 9 hours everyday and it's awesome. I've had it for a year now and performs/looks as if new. I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews for this. I weigh about 170 lbs and the difference it makes every morning that I sit on it is honestly worth 20x what I paid. When you have back pain, etc., of which I have multiple issues from my past, you know exactly what I mean. I do wish it was just slightly larger but I'm still highly pleased and will likely buy another one for other purposes in the future. While it's not as curved as it looks in the picture, it's totally irrelevant too. After sitting on it for a few hours, it does look like the picture. THIS IS NOT JUST A NORMAL CUSHION!!!!!!!! I have normal pillows and cushions at home and I assure you this is a high-tech product that actually does what the manufacturer claims it does. It will put a smile on your face; it does mine every morning at 8:00 A.M. I'm only writing this review b/c I was previously diswayed by the negative reviews and I don't want anyone else to be without an excellent product. :)

It's very soft, helps a lot for sitting down for long periods. Before I used this pillow, I would have buttocks pain after sitting for several hours. Now, my buttocks feels fantastic and comfortable.The pillow also fits on my chair perfectly, it does not move around and always stays in place. I combine this pillow with a lumbar support pillow and both have been excellent for posture.I highly recommend this product.
