Best OTC hearing aides I have found.
These rechargeable hearing aides are small and comfortable. My hearing loss is mostly high end, and these aides have the best sound I have found - including rx pair costing over 5k. Noise reduction is good and they seem to be splash proof as advertised. No more batteries to struggle with and they have a power switch which is important to me when I put them on or take them off - and they end up in a pocket.A reasonable price is a requirement for me since I am kind of rough with them. I purchased a second pair so that I have a backup should I lose or damage them - and a pair always fully charged and ready to wear. I have been using them for more than a year now and highly recommended them.

Very well built, but the sound quality and programming are Extremely Bad.
Very well built hearing aid. Love the magnetic recharging. The switches are very solid. I would Never recommend the overall sound quality! It squeals whenever it feels like it. I was just watching a normal TV show & out of the blue, it started squealing like crazy. I had to rip the aids out of my ears! If you use the Large Solid Domes, whenever you talk, it is louder than the surrounding sound. Any tone over around 3000 hertz, is extremely bad. Every high pitch is painful. It is Extremely Tinny. We tried to watch a girls volleyball game & couldn't hear the announcers and/or people in the same room due to the extremely loud and tinny sound. I had to remove the aids. The volume level is Extremely loud. Even if you use program 1 or 2 (the quitest programs), its too loud due to the tinny sound and extremely loud high pitched output. I tried to reduce the volume, but no luck. Obviously nobody with a hearing problem tested these units! Please look elsewhere until these items are fixed! They need to find a programmer to fix the drastic issues.

SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THESE EARLIER
I have had declining hearing for a couple of years, am now in early 80s. I spent several months researching hearing devices and soon learned that paying thousands for them would likely not get me a superior result to the over-the-counter ones. Of the different styles--such as in-the-ear, or behind-the-ear with a thin wire leading to the receiver in the ear canal -- I became partial to the latter because it seemed the design allowed for more space for necessary components. I chose Neosonic because articles and reviews gave their behind-the-ear devices high marks, and the price was reasonable. Have been trialing these for 4 weeks and can say the quality of daily life is greatly improved for me! Such a pleasure not to constantly ask husband & others to repeat themselves & to hear normal volume on the tv. Can participate in conversation in a noisy environment now, like a crowded restaurant, and get most of it. And so sweet to hear birdsong & other ambient sounds clearly! I found it easy to get the hang of the controls to make adjustments, and the brain makes adjustments in quite short order too. The small case is not visible behind the ear, and the very thin wire into the ear is hardly noticeable. They are rechargeable, and come with several dome sizes to choose from. I am happy with these and hope my positive experience will help others with their decision.

They are good as amplifiers
I was told by my ENT that I needed hearing aids so I tried these out first. Not to mention I was looking for something far more affordable than hearing aids. The cord stuck out of my ears and the device was noticeable. I heard everything including things that I didn’t care to hear. If you actually need amplifiers these are great but I need actual hearing aid customized to my hearing lost. I contacted the seller and I am happy they are allowing me to return them.

WORK GREAT!
Have tried $5000 RIC aids...they worked but, at the time my hearing (I didn't think) was that bad...3 years ago.Got by for a few years with the ITC aids but they would only last about a year (if I was lucky) and the feedback was very annoying. One of the great things about RIC aids is that the mic's are behind your ear...a long way from the speaker in your year mitigating feedback screeching (unless you have volume cranked way up). I did have a problem with one of the aids making my ear sore where the wire touched my ear. I wore that one on and off until my ear toughened up. One thing I like is you can actually turn off/mute the rear mics. This is a feature that I use quite often if in a restaurant or sitting next to a hard wall where sound is reflected. Yes...$100 amplifiers work but not for long and the feed back sucks. The Neosonics are expensive but not $5000 expensive. Each aid is quality! The charger with it's magnetic aid attachment is quality. It's only been about 3 months but at this point I would highly recommend.Addendum: Approx 6 months after purchasing, the right ear's aid battery began to fail. Previously it was good for at least 16 hours...and more. I contacted Neosonic and Patricia ask me to send in the appliance. After about a week, a new (or repaired) hearing amplifier arrived. It been several weeks since I received and the battery is back to holding a charge for 16+ hours. Still happy with the amplifiers and happy I purchase the extended warranty insurance.

Doesn't life up to claims
Speech sounds more natural with these hearing aids than it does with my Britzko BHA 220s; but my Britzko’s cost $112 for the pair, while these cost $600, so I expected more than just that.I thought I would be getting the claimed noise reduction when I switched to program 2 or 4, which are the ones that turn on the second, rear, microphone in each hearing aid. The microphones came on, but the only difference I could notice was that the highs dropped out.The claim is that the hearing aids will be more sensitive to sound from the front while diminishing sounds from the rear, but my tests indicated that sounds were the same loudness either way.Disappointing. I have returned them.
