As the headline states, I use to be an iphone user. I seen that most of apples phones where repetitive and they just started causing problems with slowing down over a period of time. Also lets not forget the commotion of apple issuing software updates to decrease battery life, great job apple.I was in the market for a new phone for about a week and was speculating to buy an S8. At first I said Ill wait for S9 and then didn't want to pay the hefty price at first. A week later a friend bought an S8 and I loved the curved screen. The screen looked amazing and it was all positive. The next day I bought the S9, have to always one up your friend.I've had the phone about 8 months now and I can guarantee you that I'm never going back to an iphone. Firstly the screen is curved, what other company does that. It looks so amazing. The best thing about it is that the curved screen is not just for looks. The 5.8" Quad HD+ Super AMOLED has a resolution of 2960x1440 and has 570 ppi. That's alot of pixels. Also you dont have to use the max resolution but if your buying a phone with such a nice screen I'd rather make the most of it than worry about battery life.Going onto battery life, its great compared to my old iphone 6 that I've had to charge twice a day. The phone lasts me the full work day with ease, I do use it lightly enough as I dont go on it during work. The odd few messages and facebook timeline scrolling at lunch, around 4 hours of spotify and browsing lightly will leave you with about 65-70% from a full charge from my experience. Watching Netflix as well doesn't tax the battery heavily, you can easily watch a full movie and still have 40-50% battery. This next point is also related to battery. WIRELESS charging, say whaaaa? This is literally the best thing ever, come home from work I just drop on my charging pad and boom, its charging. No worrying about cables or trying to fiddle a cable if its dark in your room.Don't be afraid that the phone is an international version, there is no difference. The phone works the exact same as the uk model and you are not limited in any shape or form.Camera is quite good also but don't use it too much myself, also one of the first phones to have a dual aperture mode. Due to having an iphone 6 that you couldn't mute camera shutter on ill answer this question for some people. The phones camera shutter can be muted by just turning the volume all the way down, don't have to worry about snapping in your lectures.Wait did I forget to mention this flagship phone still has a headphone jack? That's right, nearly everyone I know still requires a headphone jack and is a must have on a phone, it doesn't make the phone any bigger and it just adds more functionality than having to fiddle with adapters. The built in phone speakers are fit for their intended purpose and are also stereo so no accidentally covering up the speaker and not hearing anything no more. The model I got has 64gb and I feel is more than enough. If you do wish to expand you can add an SD card up to 512gb, now that's a lot of storage or if you get the international version like myself instead of another SD card you can add a second sim.The amount of software features on this phone is ridiculous. I learn something new about it every couple of days. So much different types of security locks, fingerprint sensor which always works and they placed it in a better position than the S8 one so you no longer smudge the camera, pin lock, pattern lock, iris lock, face recognition and whatever else there is. Edge lighting is another neat feature that I haven't seen on phones much. Apps themselves run smooth and you can fullscreen them aswell to fit the odd aspect ratio. AOD(Always on display) is nice and handy to see notifications and have the time and date at hand at all times, you can set the AOD to turn off in the evening when your sleeping to save battery and not use it for no reason.Phone itself is ip68 rated for water resistance but I can't say I've tried it and wont be testing that feature haha.In the box it also comes with a really decent pair of akg earbuds. Don't really use them since I use audio technicas instead but they sound good and work with the phones dolby atmos feature. You get a full size usb port adapter for the phone aswell which is pretty cool, I've plugged in a full size logitech g610 keyboard and it worked and lit up.Of course that there is things I'd like changed about the phone. Firstly the bixby button, yes you can disable this but I'd like to see samsung add something to the settings where you can map it to something else such as opening the camera or a specific app on your phone. Phone does come preinstalled with some bloatware but that's nearly every device. No dual camera setup like nearly all other phones but the S9+ has a dual camera setup. It's not something that bothers or affects me though.Hope this reviewed helped some people and that they will also be just as satisfied with their purchase as I was.

What a phone!
I did a lot of research before purchasing a new phone and i looked at the xz2 by sony, oneplus 6, lg g7 thinq and the new oppo find x amongst others. All of them had what i needed but after looking at a lot of reviews and comparisons on a lot of different websites i decided to go for the Galaxy S9 and boy was i glad i did.I received the European version that was unlocked and the package was sealed. Put in my EE sim and after, it automatically recognised it, the phone set itself up for my carrier. This phone is amazing and its slightly less smaller than all the other phones (which is what swung it for me in the end). The battery life is not that brilliant but then again i am playing with it a lot at the moment, figuring things out (being a man i don't read the manual ;) )The camera is really good and the colours are amazing, the sound quality when playing music and on calls (even on bluetooth headset) are really good as well.Overall I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.

If You're In the UK Get this Version and not the more Expensive UK Specific Version it works with no issues
I'd had enough with Apple and decided to make the jump. Firstly, asking the seller questions is useless as they do not reply. I bought the dual SIM international version as it was considerably cheaper than the UK specific version. It came with a UK charger, feels more flimsy than Apple, but hey it works, inserted by SIM and a SD card and I was off - finally free from Apple. Not being a massive tech fan I probably don't use anything close to this phone's capability; however, yes the camera is very good, the navigation is relatively easy to convert over to and pretty much every app I had on an I-phone can be found for this. Why 4 and not 5 stars, well it's not the phone's fault, I'm simply a bit overwhelmed with all the options and how customisable everything is - options open options, with layers and layers of analysis and optimisation available. If you really want to configure your smart phone experience then this phone is for you; personally, I appreciate the capability but sometimes just want to make a call, send a text and waste time on social media.

No USB connector in box so can't be sure it's a new untampered box
Update: The seller said they would send me the missing USB connector but instead posted a USB cable. I have written back but no response. The phone generally seems fine and as expected from a Samsung although battery life and motion detection/face recognition could be better. The box cane with a seal saying "European SIM only" and all the manuals are non-English. However the adaptor was UK which was weird. Also there was no USB connector and I have asked seller to send it to me but they haven't replied. Given the UK adaptor+European manuals but no USB connector, I can't be sure that this is a new untampered box.

Sorry Apple, I've been won over ..
All good. Was concerned about international v UK version, but switched language to English and used Smart Switch to transfer everything from iPhone 6 and it took less than an hour. Apparently there's a warranty issue with getting the Int. version, but tbh that's not a real concern for me.Lovely phone and a breath of fresh air from iPhone, which I've used since the early days. For half the price: better camera, display quality/speed, and battery. Just takes a while to get used to Android over iOS.
