Poor quality.
The light, functionally, is much better than the SLR 1000 workhorse that I've had for three years. The rotation and removable battery are absolutely excellent, I carry a couple of spare 21700 batteries and this thing will last an entire day on full blast. However, the build quality has DEFINITELY taken a knock. It's much less robust feeling that the older SLR 1000. I've dropped the SLR 1000 countless times from head height behind racks and it just keeps on ticking. This light, however, broke just removing the battery cap. The gold ring fell out and continues to do so every time I replace the battery now. It's held in place with friction alone, a very poor design choice.A real shame, I always thought of Unilite lights as excellent quality. Just like most other products, they've changed the recipe, gone for cheaper materials and it shows.Cheap feeling, cheap looking and it's now broken like a cheap LED lamp. A far cry from my old SLR 1000.*Edit*It's now broken in to two halves and held together with epoxy and cable ties. I won't be rushing to buy another.I'm looking for another, better quality light.

Nice but not a 21700
So theres a lot to like about this light, good magnets, usable hook, super bright, feels chunky. The red mod is excellent I like the glow in the dark feature so you can still find it when the battery runs out... which is a good thing because on high brightness the battery dies fast, on low, spot of red it'll happily run of a decent usb charger but it gets so stupidly hot on high I wouldn't want to risk trying to run it on a charger... So I decided to buy some spare 21700s and discovered that despite being advertised as a 21700 the battery fitted isnt one: a 21700 is 70mm long, the unilite battery is 78mm so a normal 21700 doesn't make good contact.... this is a real shame especialy as 21700s are available in higher capacity varients.
