I Have Owned Many SOG Products..
This is one of the best knives that I have personally purchased from them..I like lightweight camping, it is a full survive blade, with an agresive sawing edge.. The spare pocket will fit, a Zippo fuel refill container, (I filled with white gas of course.. a few drops gets most fires started) and a mini "Bic" wrapped in a small plastic zip bag, plus a little waxed tinder, and a few water proof matches, and some 14 gage craft wire, which is very good for temp fixes in camping gear..The blade is amazing, very sharp.. Also well balanced, I am not a knife thrower but the balance is so good I planted it in a can of Pepsi from 20 feet first rotational throw, and straight throw, burried it about 7/8 inch deep at 14 feet into pressure treated 4x4, with light throw.. I would suggest it, and have purchased another..SOG knives🔪 are the best.. I used my last SOG knife to dig in the garden, cut small trees, Bushcraft, camping, general utility around the house knife..This knife is a much better design over the previous blade I had stolen from my house one day..I have much appreciation for the design of this knife, and plan to buy one for family members also..The grip is non slip.. Have had it in iced river water, snow, rain, mud, all situations it is great, bare handed or gloves..It is a solid knife..Peace.But Be Prepared.. 😉

Great if you understand the limitations
Overall for the price it is a good SOG knifeProsGreat double bladed knife both sides are perfect for multiple applicationsGreat Handle I don't feel like this thing is coming out of my hand at all while using itGood carry pouch it is the standard SOG knife pouchPretty solid blade construction for what it is supposed to be used forConsLarge knife if you plan to do anything even remotely close to conceal carry with this knife forget it get a pocket folder insteadThe blade tip feels flimsy I wouldn't use this as a prybar or to pry anything really.OverallIt is a great blade for the price but it is no survival knife, it is meant for cutting and stabbing but none of the heavier survivalist tasks. If you want a knife for that get a SOG SEAL Pup or a knife of that nature. However if you want a good cutting and slashing knife this will fit the bill great especially for the price. Mine was used to help process turkeys the serrated edge was great for that.

Great knife, horrible sheath
This would be a 5 star review based on the knife but the sheath brings it down. This knife would be perfect for boot carry or even covert EDC except the worthless sheath, which seems to be a base generic nylon sheath that you would carry attached to a backpack, vest, or belt. How a "boot knife" doesn't come with a boot compatible sheath is beyond me. Honestly the manufacturer should get a better sheath and send it to every owner as an apology for this massive oversight. That being said, the knife itself is great, razor sharp and flawless out of the box. The handle feels great in the hand, gives a good purchase for most type of cutting, even when wet. This is NOT a camping or survival knife, though it could fill in for that role in a pinch. It's well made, certainly a good value for the money, but then figure on spending 50-80 more for a decent sheath. Really, this sheath makes me scratch my head at whoever approved this at SOG.

Best tactical knife I ever owned.
I was debating between buying this or a Ka-Bar for my molle vest and ended up choosing the SOG, and I'm glad I did. Perfect in every way - size, balance, durability and appearance. One issue I had before buying was that it came with a soft sheath, as opposed to a hard sheath. I thought that it would cut the sheath over time, destroying it, so I bought a separate, hard sheath. I was wrong. The soft one actually worked much better! It has a hard plastic insert that protects from cutting, and it attached to my vest way better. I ended up returning the hard sheath.

Beautiful knife!
I received this knife fairly quickly and was very happy when I opened the box and saw a beautiful blade gleaming back at me. The knife comes with a sharp strait edge and serrated edge. It's full tang and very well ballenced with a perfect weight. It is still knew for me so I don't know how well it holds it's edge but, from the research I have done, SOG does well with this metal. The tip is extremely pointed and I could see it chipping away if it were used for a carelessburility knife but I have not experienced that, as I use it for cutting and protection only. It comes with a solid case with a second compartment for a sharpener or whatever you may want in it (smaller pocket knife?). I would highly recommend this knife to anyone looking for a well made, medium size, protection/cutting knife, at a good cost.

A good value
I'm not sure why but right from the first I was taken with the looks of the Pentagon. It's not real practical, it's not for whittling, skinning game or preparing vegetables [although it will actually dice onions or chop celery with no problem]. It does open mail quite well but I doubt that is what it was designed for. It is the sharpest knife out of the box of any I've seen. What the Pentagon IS is a fine example of its genre-a dagger-sharp & if necessary, deadly. The serrations on one side of the blade makes it a bit more practical for cutting rope or fabric etc..The only real complaint I have is with the sheath it came with. It is of the "dangler" style; it hangs below the belt. The person who carries a knife like this probably is thinking of it first as a defensive weapon which means concealed, not hanging out there for all the world to see. Fortunately there is a kydex sheath of the proper design available that clips to the belt, holds the knife up higher where it is easier to conceal and can be worn inside the waistband. This costs about 27$ more but is worth it. Should have come with it in the first place.
