A pleasant surprise so far
Although I've only had this vacuum for one day, I feel the need to write a review, because of others I've read. First, let me confirm that this vacuum is the quietest vacuum I have ever used. And, I have used many, many different brands. Regarding the "hose issue", where people complain about it pulling out during use, clearly don't understand how to properly connect the hose. You have to lock it in, by twisting it to the right once you attach it. Suction is very good, but not the strongest that I've ever had. I didn't expect it to be very strong at only 575 watts, but it is definitely stronger than I thought it would be. The machine seems to be built pretty well. But, again, I've only had it for one day.Update: several months later and I can not say enough good things about this machine. Its still extremely quiet and powerful. I use the machine in a commercial setting on a daily basis. Still going strong!! People complaining about the hose not staying attached, don't know how to twist and lock it in place. So, don't go by their reviews.

Great vacuum
I use this vacuum for work. It is heavy duty and is used every day. The cord is very long so you don’t have to worry about plugging it in in every room. Suction is awesome. The cord winder is great. The wand and hand tools are great. Love this vacuum.

Hose will NOT stay attached
As one other reviewer commented the connection where the hose inserts into the vacuum itself is faulty. I inserted the house where it connects to the vacuum, twist slightly which should lock the hose to the vacuum unit but soon as I started to simply move the hose slightly it loosened and detached from the vacuum. There was NO way for the hose to stay connected. I returned it immediately. Not sure how others may have got the hose to stay in place, I could not see anyway possible.

The BEST and LAST vacuum you'll ever need to buy!
Great suction, easy to add/remove attachments, bought the turbo brush as well because it has a "beater" and works great on our hairy animal rugs, wonderfully long electric cord, comfortable adjustable handle, VERY quite. The 2nd Taski in our family and the first is still going strong after 30 years. Don't waste your time on other brands.

Quiet / Powerful / A bit odd...
These are the most common machines in better hotels in my country, so we decided to use them at our business and bought 4 machines. We've had them for about four years and they are still like new. This is most likely because they don't have a motorized brush, so our housekeepers can suck up anything that will fit into the hose, without fear. Paperclips? Coins? No worries. For that reason, and because they are so quiet, I bought one for myself about six months ago. So far, I'm very happy, and I use it daily (two cats) on short-pile carpets, hard terrazzo floors, throw rugs, and a large rattan floor cover.PROS:1) Very quiet (but Miele is quieter).2) Very powerful suction.3) Durable and maneuverable body. Made of tough, industrial strength plastic.4) SUPER-long, heavy duty cord. A great benefit!5) Long and durable hose.6) Huge bag capacity (I have 2 cats) and easy to change. So far, I've only changed the bag once, and that was early.7) The engine runs cool, so you can use it for big jobs without feeling blasts of hot exhaust air.8) Easy to carry around - solid, but not too heavy. Has a "well-made" feel to it when you pick it up.9) My playful cat enjoys getting bumped around by it and my shy cat isn't too bothered by it because it isn't too loud.CONS:1) Cord doesn't retract automatically and must be wound by hand.2) No upholstery attachment - only the bare hose. Didn't find one to my liking on the Taski website. Odd!3) Relies on powerful suction to clean carpets, rather than a motorized brush. This initially worried me, but my rugs are cleaner than ever. (Did I say that I have two cats?) The suction is strong enough to remove cat hair after a few passes. It's kind of amazing to see how it works so well without a big motorized brush attachment. Maybe this should be a PRO.4) The strong suction in carpet mode can cause rug edges to get sucked up or flip over entirely, but this can be overcome with a few tricks - the right angle approach, etc.5) On hard floors (terrazzo, in my case), the nozzle has a tendency to squeal a little when pulling it back toward me. It also has a slight clicking pivot at the fully extended push/pull point, which could annoy sensitive downstairs neighbors. (Not a big deal, but I notice it when I'm in a hurry.)6) In smaller spaces like bathrooms, the heavy duty long hose can be a bit more than you need and can bump into doors and things.Overall, it's a nice machine that I'd recommend.

This is the best vacuum cleaner we've ever owned.
This machine is marvelous. It's suction is so strong, it seems like it will suck up your floor. No dirt can escape its strength. Another great thing is it really is quiet. Do yourself a favor, and buy one of these machines. Unlike the cheaply made ones being sold for a lot of money, this machine is well made and reasonable in price. Taski as found another forever customer as we will never buy another brand.

Quiet and powerful!
I'm so excited to have this! We stayed in a Ritz-Carlton in Vienna and this is the machine with which they used to clean. I decided to do some research on price first (the RC has the finances to purchase something I might not) and I was blown away with the reasonable cost AND the product specifications. As my 30+ year old Rainbow was becoming more than I could manage, I decided to purchase and give it a try! We have three indoor dogs...two large and a small. The two large shed enough for six and this machine rids the house of hair, etc. better than anything I've used before! Base boards, window sills, floors (wood, rock, and rugs). It is light enough that I'm able to carry up and down our four-level home. The cord is long enough to vacuum a couple of rooms before repositioning. I did purchase a universal fitting ZVac Compatible Floor Brush that is more slender and works on my stairs, etc. I definitely recommend this vacuum and would purchase it all over again!
