This is really not for beginners.
Very good instructions. The engineering behind this design is great! Lots of sanding involved. You will need several days to complete this model. I found sanding the parts with a rotary sander before you pop out the parts makes for an easier job. The wooden pegs fit tight so you will need a round file to open the holes somtimes. I also sanded the edges with a dremel tool while I have arthritis in my hands. The belt tension seems to work better loose rather than tight.Minwax classic oak looks good on this project.

you must follow the directions, explicitly.
first of all, it’s no toy. Directions are sometimes confusing, but followed properly will complete the assembly. I found graphite to be a better lubricant, and once it was completed, was very satisfied with my assembly. this can be a gift for anyone who loves horses.

Great Gift
Gave this to my 12 yr old granddaughter and she loved it! She loves horses and chose this as her gift. It is advanced but will be a great family bonding experience and something she can keep forever. She loved the wind up for the horse to trot

Worst product ever.
Terrible product, don’t waste your money, first of all it says that if for older than 10 year old children, non sense it’s really hard to build, second the wood is so bad quality, the base doesn’t fit and when you try to press it breaks down on you, I’ll show a picture with my review. The price is high for the quality of the materials.

A delightful challenge!
I loved this kit! That being said, it must be acknowledged that this is absolutely not a quick and easy project. Proper fitting of the pieces took a fair bit of sanding and finessing (which I enjoy!), less experienced hobbyists might get frustrated. If you find pieces aren't fitting together well don't force them, the wood will snap. Sand the parts! If you have the patience for it you'll be rewarded by an amazing moving art piece.

Fun Puzzle
I enjoyed this puzzle very much until time to put the legs on. The holes were too large for the peg by the time I sanded their interiors for the sake of the glue. I did get it all together, but have no faith the legs won't pop off. The other pieces were precisely fitted and well done.

Not for the beginner...but great project for those skilled.
I’m a retired dental ceramist. This kit took extra tools, patience, and really reading the directions. Kit rated difficult...here’s why. Glue doesn’t set or rather bond to the laser burnt wood left from manufacturing. Must be filed off....so parts are designed with that in mind. On assembly spacers for horse were short. Error in some parts numbers in manual. But once you study the photos most everything comes into an understanding as to how to proceed. I’d say it’s challenging to build this. I have diamond files and sheet of sandpaper on clipboard....each hole has to be sized. Kit is time consuming for sure...but that’s what I wanted..something to do I enjoy with my hands.
