Fountec Fountain Algaecide Clarifier, 64 Ounce

We're gone about 5 months of the year. Even with the fountain not running much during that time, when we treat with this before we head off in our RV, the fountain is never nasty when we get back. Works very well and we have no algae on the fountain or the rocks, etc. Keeps the pump clear too. We have lots of pollinators, hummingbirds, etc. and it never seems to do them any harm.

Easy to use, (I just need to remember to use it!) does keep the algae down, I would recommend.

I have a large fountain about 100 gallons. I bought this product due to it's high recommendation on Amazon by most reviewers. I have a stubborn algae bloom in the fountain because i live in Central CA where we get a lot of sun. The fountain is a concrete fountain and sits in the sun a good part of the day.I tried several algaecide products prior to this one. Overall it is easy to use, the instructions are clear on the amount to put in the water. It pours nicely, no splashing and you don't use much so even though the overall price seems high you only use a very small amount.My problem was with the algae bloom I have this product did a good job of breaking the algae up but not really eliminating it and even a few days after putting it in I had continued algae problems. I used it about 3 or 4 times and just did not get the results I wanted.I think this product is great for maintenance once you have the algae under control but honestly the only way I can fix my situation at least is going to be to drain and wash out the fountain and fill with clean water then use this product as maintenance. So it's not as advertised as far as killing off algae but it does break it up.

I can’t recommend this stuff enough. My husband and I just bought a house with a beautiful pond and waterfall. We had no idea what we were getting into. The previous owner hadn’t maintained it after they moved out last year and it needed a lot of work. We first paid someone to come out and clean it up, including the huge algae bloom we had. He assured us it shouldn’t need much. Well, two weeks later we had another bloom on our hands. I did a TON of research and got this stuff and dumped it in. A week later and we have frogs. Frogs! And nary a snotty algae bloom in sight! Our pond is once again clear and beautiful.

This product works great, but I thought it was a little pricey so I tried another one. Big mistake. You get what you pay for. My fountain was full of green algae slime. So I emptied and cleaned it and bought the larger jug of this algae cleaner. I couldn’t be happier. I love the blue tint it leaves in the crystal clear water. Lesson learned. I’ll be sticking with this product from now on.
