I had previously paid a lot of money for a set with knives and I don’t need the knives as I use these due to hyperacusis (sound sensitivity). This is exactly what I need and for the right price! Will buy again.

I was puzzled because teak is notoriously heavy wood, and these cutlery pieces are as light as balsa wood. After some reading and quite a lot of use of just one spoon and fork, my puzzlement is lessened.If these are teak, they are made from the outermost layer of the tree -that which lies just under the bark. Layers of teak wood from outer to inner are progressively darker, and after some wear and minor chipping both the spoon and fork show very light colored wood, similar to light pine.But the cutlery is dark brown, but only on the surface. Highly indicative that the cutlery is stained brown. Not sure how I feel about that and if it should be trusted as safe for eating utensils.
