Solid but basic controller.
This is a very nice controller for the price. You do give up the dock and Nintendo Switch compatibility of some of the more expensive versions, but for a gaming PC, it's a great option. After several hours of play, primarily on Forza Horizon 5 and Oblivion Remastered, it has worked well and feels a bit tighter and more responsive than the tired launch edition Xbox One controller it is replacing. Throttle response is good in Forza and button presses are reliable and quick.PositivesFeels like a first party controller. Solid, with good button and stick feel. I'm not a D pad guy, so that doesn't really worry me. Battery life seems good, but I haven't really tested it for more than a couple hours at one time. Charging is only through a Type C USB cable and there is no provision to use the dock from the higher tier versions of the controller. The 2.4ghz dongle works seamlessly as it should.Negatives.There is no customizability available through the company's software. The software will only update the firmware on this version. The two extra R4 and L4 buttons can only be programmed on the controller and don't seem to show up in Windows, pressing them in game setup doesn't allow you to map them in the games I've tried. It's not difficult to program them on the controller, but you can't use them for extra game specific shortcut buttons, etc.The general shape of the controller may also not work for some people. The grip handles are much closer to 90 degrees than the more outswept grips of the Xbox controller this replaced. The distance from the top of the stick to the back of the controller is also deeper than an Xbox controller, which is more cut out on the back.

Works Just Fine On Linux Systems
Bought this controller as my PS4 controller doesn’t work under Linux without a wired connection and it matches with my other red rgb peripherals. It’s smaller than I expected and has some extra buttons I don’t know how to use yet, but I’m sure I’ll ease into it in time.Pros:-Steam’s Linux client picks this controller up immediately: You don’t need to install any drivers not included in the kernel or anything like that. Steam picks it up automatically once it’s powered on, at least when using the 2.4ghz connection as I haven’t tested it with Bluetooth. I also haven’t tested it with Heroic launcher or Lutris yet, but considering Steam picks it up, Heroic and Lutris will likely pick it up too.-It has Hall effect sticks: This is great as these type of sticks are meant to prevent stick drift, which is present in many controllers (*cough* Nintendo Switch Joycons *cough*) and is not a fun time to deal with once it happens. Ask me how I know.-Extra buttons: Besides the obvious buttons for a standard controller, it has some extra ones that you can map to different things. I don’t know how to do that yet, but I’m sure I’ll find out eventually. Or maybe never since I don’t think I’ll need them.Cons:-It’s smaller than a typical controller: If you’re used to using Xbox or PlayStation controllers, using this is going to feel off for you. This also applies if you have big hands.Neutral:-It has a rechargeable battery: I’m putting this here since this can be seen as a good or bad thing depending on who you are. Some consider this good as it means they don’t have to constantly buy batteries, others consider this bad as it reduces the overall lifespan of the controller (if the battery inside dies, you have to disassemble the controller to replace it or buy a new controller entirely). Just keep this in mind before you buy it if you’re in either camp.Overall for the price you get it for, I find it to be superior to Xbox and PlayStation controllers. I’ll def be buying more of these for a RetroBat living room setup I’m working on. It feels good to use a controller wirelessly again, I’ll say that.

Best controller I've had (at this or any price)
Stunned with the value for money. Honestly it's one of the best controllers I've ever had. It easily connects to my PC, the battery lasts forever, the colors are beautiful (and come as advertised) and did I mention how cheap it was?Durability feels good and the product is well designed/ manufactured. The only downside is playing on a 3rd party controller, it can be hard to know which menu buttons are for what sometimes as they have vague symbols on them. That being said, save the hundred dollars you would spend for name brand and by an 8-bit instead.I wish I had ordered one of the better colorways but I wanted to play my games ASAP so salmon it is (got this one same day prime)! Probably get a two tone in the future.

Great for casual mobile play
works great so far, I have it hooked up through Bluetooth on both a Pixel 7pro and Pixel 9, both work about the same but I do have to reprogram the Bluetooth when I switch between the two. I play Wuthering Waves on both phones and while the pro runs the game better there's still a slight input lag on both, but nothing that gets in the way of combat in the game. If I have to mention any cons I'd say the lack of grip on the controllers and the light on the home button is annoyingly bright while gaming at night, I don't wanna add the input lag but it's something to consider if it becomes worse over time. Battery life and size are great overall, I have smaller hands (5.5") and it fits more comfortably then my Xbox series x controller but not as comfy as my PS4 controller.

Excellent 30$ controller. Good wireless, no issues.
Works good so far, had it for months now and havent used it every day. But it works fine when I do use it. Its a bargain controller, the price is good, the wireless works and I've had no connection issues. Hold the middle button down for a while to turn it off, its pretty simple. The weakest part here is the d-pad, obviously you would NOT want to use this for fighting games or anything that requires rigorous d-pad execution. Other than that nothing to not like. Its a 30$ or so controller so you get what you pay for, but that said, this is probably the most solid 30$ you can spend on a controller. 8bitdo is a good brand, I've got their arcade stick and it is very solid.
