Solid, smooth phone for a great price
We've had Umidigi phones in the past (for our young son) and they are superb for the small layout. They work just as well as flagships. The UMIDIGI G9 camera is excellent, covering all our needs for photos and video in superb resolution. YouTube is exceptional on this phone. The speakers are also good, not that tinny and blast out a decent sound at a controlled volume. The phone feels great in the hand, not too big or heavy, and looks superb (we got the black version). Setting up was a breeze, as it should be. No problems and connected to wifi, bluetooth and other services seamlessly. It comes with Android 14 which is great and helps everything flow on this device. The scope to add numerous apps is also there due to the large storage space you get. All in all, this phone can easily be your daily driver and no one would know you'd paid 90% less than for a top-end flagship phone. Top marks, Umidigi, yet again.

Versatile Budget Phone
I've had a couple of Umidigi phones before. They've always been well made, low priced phones with great battery life. This one doesn't disappoint.Fast performance from a decent processor and 6GB of RAM plus 128GB of built in storage. There's 2 SIM Card slots, one of which I believe you can use for expanded storage with an SD card.Battery life is great - 5000mAh ensuring it will easily last the day, even with heavy use.The big 6.75inch screen has a plastic screen protector factory fitted, adding protection to a bright and clear display. There's also a case, power cord and charger all included which is great. There's a few little bits of bloatwear/features that I've switched off (a call summary with adverts after every call, and a slightly racist face attribute detect) but these are easy to manage. The camera is good and simple to use, with a range of settings and features you can dive into if you want more in-depth photography.Overall, it's a great budget phone.

G9 Screen
Well....the phone is easy to set up and use. But the screen is let down badly - mostly due to its lack of vibrancy and the need to have the brightness up to 80-90 percent to operate even in an indoor setting - a sunny day a rarity in the UK .... Forget it. ? !Also the rubber "Condom" cover is about as useful as a Ash Tray on a Motorbike ! ! ,as it covers the volume button not very tactile to say the least But having said all that the camera is rather good day or night. Tones and colour reproduction are good without editing. It is all very well to produce millions of phone's apart from the GUI , the screen is a vital part of the phone.... You get what you pay for.😟

No NFC.
If you are wanting to use it to pay via wallet, you CAN NOT. Not an issue for me, but some people might want to. Good phone all round, at a good price. Easy to set up, Android 14 from start up. Decent camera, not the best, but also not the worst. Signal a little low at times, but still ok.

Great Value for money!
I've had multiple Umidigi Phones in the past including the F1, and F2 and find the company produces great products for incredible value. I decided to take the plunge on this the G9 and I have to say, it hits the mark once again! I know some reviews aren't happy with the missing NFC but if like me you do not use your phone as a payment method, there isn't really much to miss. The phone is reactive and has a smooth look. It isn't very heavy and comes with pre-attached screen protector and case. The biggest pro for me is the price point. Buying a decent phone with specs can be awfully expensive. I think they have priced this more than fairly for what you are getting. In terms of the cons, I would say that the camera isn't going to wow the budding photographers that might be reading this but I will say that the quality is still up there and it will take a good shot for everyday use.Overall, for anyone on a budget that is looking for a 5G phone, this is probably the easiest decision. It is a solid phone without the premium price tag.

Do not buy this phone
I know what you’re thinking, the price looks good right? And there is even an extra voucher option for some more money off, but let me tell you something. Don’t do it. I’ve had this phone for a few days and I can tell you it’s not very good. There is only one speaker at the bottom, the screen is not very bright and is slightly washed out, it has no nfc, fast charging is 15w only, and the default launcher is not very good. I have watched the Umidigi YouTube videos and it talks about how it is faster than the Samsung A14 in Antutu benchmarks, but really this phone is not that fast. As an Android phone it is pretty average, and the only good thing going for it is that it comes with a screen protector preinstalled and a translucent phone case, and that’s it. Also, being a Chinese phone, you have no idea how long it would be supported for.A much better value phone for nearly the same amount of money is the Motorola Moto G54 5G. The screen is much brighter, and I mean much brighter. The audio is also stereo and very clear thanks to the Dolby Atmos support, it has nfc support and fast charging is 20w so it can go from 15% to 80% in an hour. This has 8GB of physical RAM compared to the 6GB of the Umidigi, and 256GB internal storage vs the 128GB. No other budget phone provides 256GB of internal storage. Get the Motorola, it is just better
