This desk easel is sturdy, the draw fits graphite pencils, markers, pens, it also has artist palette. To get the draw to slide in and out freely I used wax paper. I whipped the sides of the draw and the inside sliders so it opens freely. This is a great desk easel for anyone who needs to draw, or write on a desk, it's sturdy enough to sit it on my lap and draw wherever I am. I'm buying another for my 8 year old artist niece, she loved it when she saw it. It's a great piece for a great price.

I like that it’s portable. Draw could be configured differently for my needs, but overall it’s fine.

I was really pleased with this item when it arrived. It's packaged in a cardboard box and is easily opened. The adjustable prop for the book/canvas holder is very well made in my opinion. It's very sturdy and this 8yr old and his Gram had a nice coloring session on his new grown-up coloring book. The reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is, as others have stated that the drawer is sticky to get out. There is no little knob or handle so it's tricky to open, and agreeing with others, you must be sure you are pulling it evenly straight out and the same if you pull it out all the way when you go to return it to its slot. Still, he was very happy with it and thanked me multiple times. Oh, I have to mention, he LOVES the leather-like carry handle and let us know all the great places he plans to carry his new "desk."

Great product, keep in mind that the storage is not large.

It just occurred to me a moment ago that I bought this thing 9 years ago, and it's still on my desk seeing every day use. What better rating is there? It's a little bit flimsy, and sometimes the little flippy dealio that holds sketchbooks or canvases makes me nervous something is going to slide off, even though in 9 years it never has. It holds my sketchbooks, it holds my wacom tablet, it's exactly what I needed then and what I've needed ever since. I'd buy it for my friends if they needed it.

Nice and lightweight while still being sturdy. It doesn't go as straight as I thought, but still works for pastels. The drawer underneath is a real bonus as it holds quite a lot, even full it's still light and easy to carry. The easel portion stays in place when you set it up, so no problem with your painting falling. Overall a great little unit.

The wood is of good quality. One of the locks came off after the first use. the metal that the hinges/locks are made of is so soft that the hinges of the small flap (where the canvas would stand) got bent so badly but luckily they didn't break and I managed to reshape them and everything was OK. The size is perfect for me and the kind of projects I want to work on. When I am working and the easel is weighted down, the drawer opens easily; otherwise its a bit annoying to open and close but that is a minor thing to me what matters is the size and sturdiness of the easel itself.I use it at my studio so I am not sure how it will hold up against being moved regularly if you decided to use it for plein air painting. All in all Im happy with it since its quite affordable.I would still recommend it if you intend to use it at home.

I found the easel to be well built. I bought the easel for my grandson. My grandson loved the storage drawer. The easel setup is great for young kids.
